    The rule is already in place. You saw it play out and no bat flip was needed. A refresher:
    The pitcher was daring batters to hit off him
    A batter crushed it
    He dropped his bat appropriately and rounded all bases
    On his way home…he skipped and joined his team who all jubilantly rubbed in it together.
    Did you see that celebration? I did…no need for pulling the light on himself. His stick already told the story that really matters, why toss it up like it’s a tool when the tosser is the true tool when THAT happens. Act like you’ve done this before and create a reputation as a good/great player and sport.

    • @genesispuredeaf2390
      @genesispuredeaf2390 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don’t care what sport it is…whenever I see the behavior of a player like that pitcher, it communicates something that they really don’t want. If I’m that team’s coach, I shut it down FAST…if I’m the opposing team’s coach, I use it to motivate my players to bind together as a team. A solo artist like that actually signals dysfunction.
      I’ll never forget that one water volleyball tournament when a player on the other side was slamming up with spike after spike. I finally got my turn to face him and jumped higher than probably EVER on a ball that either of us could have gotten and spanked it so hard …it was everything I hoped might happen. It hit his forehead and then went sky high on the bounce out of bounds (our point). This was a singles apartment complex where the tournament was the major event at a huge party sponsored by a beer company…the entire crowd went wild. It was spectacular and I believe that even the people cheering for his team was feeling redemption for his brutish behavior. I celebrated the play uneventfully with my team (while virtually exploding inside) and we went on to win the tournament.
      The only thing that made it better was that he had “Voit” tattooed on his forehead where the brand was welting up for the rest of the game and afterwards. As I said, I couldn’t have drawn up a better result.
      Wanna flip your bat…then do it at your own demise. As for me, I sure don’t wanna give away any power.

    Matt, it is imperative that we keep our dignity, respect for the game, our maturity, our sportsmanship intact.
    Our parents have told us, all because one person jumps off the bridge, you don't have to jump too! That's
    why we "don't" mimic bad behavior, but ask ump to enforce "rules of sportsmanship" to stop & control it.
    Because your neighbor robs a bank, buys new cloths, gold watches, new car...you THINK you HAVE the
    RIGHT to rob a bank too! Of course not. Punish the offender, take away the goods. What we don't do, is
    imitate the bad behavior that we dislike of others. Children say, I'm giving him a taste of his own medicine!
    CHILDREN! Are you a child or a man? Are you of good character or not? Do you respect the game or not?
