I shoot on an A7S3 and I’ll use this to film in my studio, where I don’t have a ton of space - I don’t have quite enough room for my 24-70
That's right, trying things in the real case use is how gear reviews should be done. This lens would be a great combo prime lens with my Viltrox 56mm F1.4. Gonna use the 56mm for tight shots, and 20mm for wide shots.

I own other Viltrox lenses for Sony and Fujifilm, and it is nice to know that another lens is coming to our end. I own the FX30 and the A7IV, so that would be nice to cover the wide shots. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video! Love how viltrox makes their lenses so cheap. I use the Sony ZV-E10 and try working up to an A7IV next year. I would love to use the lens for vlogging and landscape shots, maybe also some Reels I shoot for clients.

Thanks for the review. Very impressive what such a cheap lens can offer for this price. Consider buying it for my Sony ZV-E1. I need a wider lens because I am currently shooting indoor with a 28mm most of the time with my back against a wall.😅 And the f2.8 would be an upgrade too.

I've been looking for a nice light lens to use with my Sony A7IV on a gimbal and this looks like it might be the one I go for! Since I film with 4k 60 quite often it would be nice to have a wider lens to still have a somewhat wide fov when in crop mode!
Thank you Joris, great review especially since sometime photography is not about technicalities but real-life outcomes and we all use these items differently. Personally, I would love this lens seeing that being in South Africa lenses are not cheap stuff to invest in a lot of variety of lengths of lenses and this would be very handy for the little wedding business am doing and this will do well for the wide angle shots than my kit lens. All the same, thank you for your lessons.

I have a Sony fx30 and love it for smooth gimbal shots! Size seems perfect for a small or mid sized gimbal. Could using it when shooting automotive stuff and for vlogging as well! ❤

20 mm is my favourite lens, that may include this, but other vintage lens like, Carl Zeiss Flektogon 20 mm F 4, definitely an adorable one.
Wow! I have a Sony a6000 and I'm trying to learn more about it and lens for different types of settings. I love to travel and take street photos as well as landscape. It's a journey and I hope to improve and continue to upgrade my gear.
I have a zv-e10 and this would be a great general walk around lens. It will also be a good wide angle full frame lens if ever I upgrade. I'm an independent filmmaker so this small lens will be very useful for run and gun shoots.
Are there any downsides to using FE lens on the ZV-E10? It should be around 13mm F1.9 on APSC camera right?

I just bought the sony a7iv paired with a 24-70, i think the viltrox 20 mm will be a really good additional lens to my kit, also because I also shoot some interior places and I think my 24-70 isnt enough wide...

I bought the sony a7c about 6 months ago and I'm still using the kit lens. It's good and versatile but I'd love a smaller aperture. I'd probably use it for travel photography as I prefer only bringing 1 lens.
Interesting, clear and entertaining videos as usual, Joris. Will use the Lens on my FX30 , for nature and portrait videos at lower Aperture than my Sony zoom lenses.
This lens is fantastic for setting scenes in films. Well, I'd use it for setting scenes indoor with the baby on the A7iv. It means you could have a nice prime 35mm whilst a cheap 20mm saves you overspening on a wide angle. Cool review pal
If only if they can make some high IQ compact pancake lens which few manufacturer made &none in high IQ. would not mind paying higher $ .look at the average size of Leica lens vs the rest which is larger & larger

ZV-E10 - I believe those lightweight lenses are best for this small camera. I'm gonna use it for shoot and go - street photography (bonus, is full frame, when I upgrade this lens is going to be there for me!)
i want to try that lens on my a7sii - to shoot some interior videos of my restaurant. i also make content on youtube and instagram with a different profile - that lens would be a perfect addition because i do not have any wide angle lens currently. BTW - your sense of humor is very nice. keep it up.

I have a7Siii, and I would use this 20mm lens for travel, real estate and vlogging videos. I don’t live on the North Pole, but it would be great if you delivered it to the Northern Finland!
Hey I was doing a little research to see if I should pick it up. It's a great price so no problem there and the quality is more than adequate. I plan on using it for capturing some of the festivals that happen in my corner of the world. It will go on a Sony A7 III.
As a Sony a7iii user, i would use the lens for landscape photography. I think the focal length is perfect for this type of photography.

Send it over, with the sony A7IV I will create stuff with it🙃, the only Viltrox product I ever had is the speed booster for the GH5 with the Sigma 18-35 was a fraction of the price of the Metabones one, I had it for years, and still works like a charm. Nice video.

Great video! Seven months ago, I had an accident that left me bedridden, and I've been recording my recovery process. I currently have an a7SIII setup, but the challenge is that I need something lighter as carrying equipment has become quite difficult for me. I believe this would be really beneficial for me!

Sony a7iii. Started shooting in June, and I'm going to the German markets here in Birmingham to get some street photography throughout November and December, while the festivity lasts.
I've been looking at wide angle lenses for a while now. Was considering finally getting one during the Black Friday sales if I can afford it. Something like this would be perfect, to be honest 🤔

I have a Sony a7 iii and shoot product video’s for beer brands. Because i’m on a budget i’ve only got a 60mm macro lens without AF. The 20 mm will come in handy for wide shots and shots with a lot of movement (AF).
I have a Nikon ZF, and I’m going to adapt this and use it for landscape photography in Montana!

I got Sony A7Riii and this lens will go well with it for some wide angle travel and landscape shots especially some night shots like milky way and northern lights during my winter adventures this year end!
This would be a great lens for landscapes and interior pics, but also as a wide angle video lens on the ronin. I definitely would use it for that with my Sony a7 III.

I use an A7c in narrow streets of European villages. A wide angle lens with narrow aperture would help capturing tall buildings in tight spaces.

Well that's a cute lil lens! Would be nice to have for some indoor stuff, but also seems to be pretty dope for street/architecture things. I have a Sony A6300, which, yeee, crop sensor, but hey. I've got a sony 18-200 (which I hate bcs of the variable aperture) and a helios 44-2 (which I absolutely love, but 50mm its a bit too much for what I do indoors), so something in-between would be pretty damn useful!

Thanks for the video! I had to make a choice between a 24-70 sigma or a 20mm for a Sony emount, couldn’t afford both. I mostly photograph my Son and his Football team. A 20mm would be nice on my Sony A74. Thanks again!
