Ari Eldjárn: Pardon my Icelandic - “I Hate Iceland”
/ netflixnordics
In this English-language special, Icelandic comedian Ari Eldjárn pokes fun at Nordic rivalries, Hollywood's take on Thor, the whims of toddlers and more. - Zábava
This guys ability with accents is off the chart.
He's like Paul Taylor and Trevor Noah.
Yeahh! I love the Danish accent. 🤣
Except his stereotype‘Scottish’ accent but he’s not alone no one can do any of the Scottish accents convincingly.
@@fearnpol4938 I think the issue is probably because Dorick/Scots is it's own language, so when it's spoken as an accent you tend to go a wee bit wonks haha
@@AtlasM0thaye…there’s nae loon whit kens doric unless they’ve been raised since bairns wi it.
Gotta say I like Icelandic Jim Carrey
I have never laughed more from a comic that Ari Eldjarn here. I thought no one could beat John Mulaney in my book but I stand corrected. And it was worht it. I laughed hysterically at his Denmark joke 😂
0:17 the amount of pride in his eyes! xD
I remember that volcano. I had to have my Icelandic ex-husband pronounce the name very slowly
it looks like a weak reason to divorce...
This show was so funny!!! Finally some fresh content.
Must admit... He is good with accents
As a Scot I can say that's the closest I've heard a foreigner do our accent. Nice.
This guy's granddad was actually the president of Iceland for 12 years. He never brings that up...
We also had our only Nobel Prize Winner, Halldór Laxnes...and his grandson is a stand up comedian and former rapper called Dóri DNA....
His father is also a famous writer and a poet.
Once upon a time I worked alongside said drunken Scotsman and I can confirm he was an absolute gentleman. He was hilarious in his own right, he used to go to work in mad costumes and belt out hilarious sayings to make bar goes laugh. Really nice pleasant guy to talk to and an absolute animal to drink with 😂
Legend
I mean i as a Scot that's all i think when i hear Iceland but i know you are fellow Ginger bros. skál

@@RudeHustleZone yeah it was!....the special was so much fun.......for someone who wishes to visit the Nordic countries someday....it was kind of amazing to watch and realise that people are similar and fun around the world!
@@draroking That means "roof"
Ari Eldjárn sent me
😂😂😂
But i want to go to Iceland
I hope you get to come soon.
So, you don't hate Iceland? Don't let that drunken Scot influence you, too much, hopefully.
Was the audience English, Danish or Icelandic?
Probably Icelandic but definetly not Danish, maybe English
@@appelsinan5777 Why not Danish?. He was talking Danish a lot and They were laughing.
Ari has been doing this program for a while, but this time he did it especially to be recorded for Netflix. It is in Iceland and the audience are Icelanders. Normally Ari would perform in Icelandic for Icelanders but this time it is in English because of Netflix so it is a bit of a strange situation.
@@BRAG3A Icelanders generally understand Danish. It has been mandatory to learn it in school for a long while now since before becoming independent we were under Danish rule.
@@Hrotti Speaking as a Faroese, that can speak both Gøtudanskt and Realm Danish, I'm not entirely sure that Danes even understand spoken Danish anymore...
