Neeraj Vohra was truly the backbone of Priyadarshin's career in Bollywood. Most Priyadarshin's Bollywood movies without Neeraj's collaboration flopped.
Priyadarshan is not even the original person behind Hera Pheri franchise. It was Late Shri Neeraj Vora. Priyadarshan left the first Hera Pheri in b/w , it was Neeraj vora eho wrote and completed the first film and Directed and wrote second film on a whole. He passed away in 2016.
The movie is directly lift of Ramjirao calling 1989...not sure what exactly is neeraj voras contribution...and most of the Priyadarshan movies are his own remakes..

Even Phir Hera Pheri wasn't the original story, basic plot was taken from "lock stock and two smoking barrels". And only 4 Priyadarshan's Hindi movies were his own movie remakes, most of his original movies were copied from somewhere else.

All the comedy films that made out childhood memorable were mostly written by Niraj Vora and directed by Priyadarshan.. the dialogues were authentic and grounded, the characters were relatable, the acting and casting was on a next level. Be it Hulchul, hangama, hp3, dhol, malamal weekly, Og bhulbhulaiya, and so on.. man i wish i lose my memory so that i can watch those movies for the first time again.. RIP Neeraj Vora ji

Hungama 2 is also a scene to scene remake of one of the funniest Malayalam movies ever made (except for the climax).
It had a lot of situational and physical comedy scenes that heavily relies on the actors to do most of the heavy lifting.
So I'd say Hungama 2 was ruined by the cast.

Neeraj Vhora will always be remembered as a legend. But Hera Pheri first was a remake of Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking.

Today on announcement of Hera Pheri 3. I was really missing Neeraj Vora. He was the one who builded Comedy in Indian Cinema in 2000's.
India misses a talent like Shri Neeraj Vora big time in today's time. The man behind comedies like Awara Pagal Deewana, Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, Hungama, Hulchul, Golmaal, Bhagam Bhaag,Dhol, Chup Chup Kr and Bhool Bhulaiya.
Neeraj vora didn't get the credit he deserved. A legend.

I think Hera Pheri was funnier than Hera Pheri 2 and gave good natural comedy to Paresh Rawal and good character motivations to Suniel Shetty's Shyam. I hope all 3 characters are equally highlighted in Hera Pheri 3 instead of just Raju and Babu Bhaiyya.

There seems to be derth of good script writers and dialogue writers in Bollywood that’s why we see remakes after remakes. I believe instead of paying 100 crores to actors, the film companies should invest in good writers.
@kochikame363I agree, there are so many novels, history and folklores yet to be explored but our Bollywood is just running after the formula films. They are just copy pasting hit Southern India movies or making brainless films which insults the intellect of the audiences. They use the same Punjabi remix songs, keep milking a successful franchise and give work to their groupies who party with them.
Not just south movies,they have copied from international movies...Bollywood needs to bring originality in their movies,or else just copy paste will not work specially with ott platforms

Phir Hera Pheri might be a bigger hit than the first one but it was nowhere near the first movie quality wise. It was the beginning of over the top comedy age of movies.

We don't give enough credit to the star dialogue writer "Neeraj Vora". Most of the Priyadarshan Hindi movies that are cult for it's dialogues now, were written by him. Gone too soon.
He wrote dialogues for Golmaal 1, Phir Hera Pheri and Chup Chup Ke in the same year!

Correction: Original Hera pheri is a remake of a Malayalam film (ramji rao speaking) made way back in 1989. Priyadarshan simply remade that film in hindi, also mr. Neeraj vohra simply translated that film from Malayalam to Hindi because all the dialogues and scenes were the exact copy of ramji rao speaking. No change whatsoever.
Mr. Vohra although gets full credit for phir Hera pheri since he had written and directed that film all by himself. Although the premise was taken from (lock stock & two smoking barrels) 1998. Mr Vohra made the film his own and in my opinion is a far better movie than the first film.
Correction: RRS is itself a remake of a Hollywood TV movie See The Man Run (1971). They borrowed the plot from that movie. It's not even original, so both Hindi and Malayalam are remake versions.
