Prithviraj was Samrat ,they have shown like a subedar .Dailougs and many seens were shown wrong , overall very disappointed 😖.Those who don't know about prithviraj chauhan ,after watching this movie ,the impact will be very bad .I recommend them to watch "Prithviraj chauhan " serial on hotstar ,it used to come on star plus .It was a good serial & shown perfectly 🙏

Randeep Hooda's years of hardwork and dedication went in vain when Kesari was released.

I can't imagine anyone other than Ranveer Singh playing the lead in historical epics. The way he has acted in Bajirao and Padmavat, he has created a benchmark. One more story has wasted after 3rd battle of panipat. Usme Arjun Kapoor ne hug diya, isme Akshay Kumar ne.
Akshay here is as miscast as Arjun Kapoor in Panipat. Tanhaji is one of the best historical movies in the recent past. Acting, Casting, Direction, cinematography, music, VFX everything was brilliant.
Fufaji has no doubtedly gave us some of the best movies but it's high time now to cast such actors who can focus on such roles and deliver heart winning performance. I think some TV actors have done much better job in the past in historical shows which made us stay glued to the television. It's their effort that speaks not being an A lister.

Went to see Vikram but it wasn't running in my small town of Bikaner and had to see this diarrhoea, oops sorry this movie. I have loved Prithviraj Chauhan since Rajat Tokas and after that show, I had researched everything about him and went to Ajmer to see his fort. And having lived in Rajasthan all my life, I have been to every fort here at least once. To say this film was utterly disappointing and downright insulting is an understatement. Slapping Bhansali for Padmavati and then nothing for a movie like this is appalling... Good reaction though

Honestly, I couldn't even complete the whole trailer when it dropped because of how cringe-worthy Akshay Kumar looked. I mean we've seen Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and the Ranveer Singh giving us goosebumps in all the historical acts they performed and then there was Akshay Kumar who looked so done with it. Everyone holds him in high regards for his discipline and stuff but nothing of that sort showcased even for a second in the trailer so why would a person invest in watching the whole movie with such a disinterested actor

Agreed on most of your points. Just a few things. As a 'film critique ' u should judge the film in different categories. It seems like you are just ranting. The VFX in this movie was good. Chandraprakash Dvivedi completed the movie's script in early 2010's having Akshay in his mind when he was really a dedicated actor so you can't blame him for casting Akshay. But agreed that this film required very much dedication and time from the main lead

I am from Rajasthan...my daadi told me about KAVIRAJ CHANDRABARDAYI who wrote the pithviraj raso. Prithviraj was so amazingly skilled archer..that he could aim perfectly with the help of words describing about the distance, side of his aim something called SHABD BHEDI BAAN.. When SAMRAT was enslaved that mughal guy made him blind by inserting red hot iron rods in his eyes...KAVIRAJ was with him he described the proper distance at which that mughal guy was standing and SAMRAT aimed at him and killed him.. But as those mughal guys won't let them go and will kill them..so KAVIRAJ AND SAMRAT killed each other so that those mughals don't get to kill them.. Hence SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ remained UNCONCURRED for his life.

But that's not true. Win or lose is just a part of the battle, it is the ideals, courage, spirit, etc. of the king that makes him great and respectable even by the winning party. For ex. Maharana Pratap's battle of Haldi Ghati with Akhbar was inconclusive and he wasn't able to win against Akhbar in war in his lifetime. But still he is considered a "Maharana" because of his unwavering spirit to not give up his empire to a foreign ruler. He was compassionate towards all of his subject regardless of their caste or religion.

It's really sad to see this movie fail. This is coming from a Chanakya fan, which was such a ground breaking show, with Chandra Sir himself in the role of chanakya. Never have I seen such a beautiful portrayal of historical characters. Akshay has wasted such a golden chance to shine. Wasted everyone's time, his years of hard work. Isse better sony wala show dekhlo om Prithviraj. They did 10 times better than this. Later episodes were not good but episodes with young prithviraj are amazing.

Director wanted to cast him as Samarat Prithviraj Chauhan while shooting Maholla Assi and they discussed so long about this film but due to old conflicts between Sunny Deol and Yashraj and budget issue by Chandraprakash Dwivedi Yashraj wanted a hero who is in lime light so they decided to caste Akshay Kumar but if we still ask to Chandraprakash Dwivedi by bottom of heart he still wants his Sunny as first choice.

That's all...that's just all.... No efforts, No Screenplay, nothing... As Akshay was busy wrapping up 20 more films in a row, he will not probably be bothered about playing the character deeply which in a way is an insult to Samrat Prithviraj. I rest my case 🙂
I still believe that Rajat Tokas is the best till date to play Prithviraj Chauhan on screen. Akshay is not even close, I watched the trailer and all the expressions were lost from his face and I decided not to watch it. #Fufajibas

Agreed on most of your points. Just a few things. As a 'film critique ' u should judge the film in different categories. It seems like you are just ranting. The VFX in this movie was good. Chandraprakash Dvivedi completed the movie's script in early 2010's having Akshay in his mind when he was really a dedicated actor so you can't blame him for casting Akshay. But agreed that this film required very much dedication and time from the main lead

I am from Rajasthan...my daadi told me about KAVIRAJ CHANDRABARDAYI who wrote the pithviraj raso.
Prithviraj was so amazingly skilled archer..that he could aim perfectly with the help of words describing about the distance, side of his aim something called SHABD BHEDI BAAN..
When SAMRAT was enslaved that mughal guy made him blind by inserting red hot iron rods in his eyes...KAVIRAJ was with him he described the proper distance at which that mughal guy was standing and SAMRAT aimed at him and killed him..
But as those mughal guys won't let them go and will kill them..so KAVIRAJ AND SAMRAT killed each other so that those mughals don't get to kill them..
Hence SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ remained UNCONCURRED for his life.

In most of these period films, the story is modified so that the hero or the king wins the battle. Most of the people thinks that, it is the win or lose that makes a king great or loser respectively. But that's not true. Win or lose is just a part of the battle, it is the ideals, courage, spirit, etc. of the king that makes him great and respectable even by the winning party. For ex. Maharana Pratap's battle of Haldi Ghati with Akhbar was inconclusive and he wasn't able to win against Akhbar in war in his lifetime. But still he is considered a "Maharana" because of his unwavering spirit to not give up his empire to a foreign ruler. He was compassionate towards all of his subject regardless of their caste or religion.

It's really sad to see this movie fail. This is coming from a Chanakya fan, which was such a ground breaking show, with Chandra Sir himself in the role of chanakya. Never have I seen such a beautiful portrayal of historical characters. Akshay has wasted such a golden chance to shine. Wasted everyone's time, his years of hard work.
Isse better sony wala show dekhlo om Prithviraj. They did 10 times better than this. Later episodes were not good but episodes with young prithviraj are amazing.

FYI Shanbhai Initially first choice of this film for Samarat Prithviraj chauhan was Sunny Deol. Director wanted to cast him as Samarat Prithviraj Chauhan while shooting Maholla Assi and they discussed so long about this film but due to old conflicts between Sunny Deol and Yashraj and budget issue by Chandraprakash Dwivedi Yashraj wanted a hero who is in lime light so they decided to caste Akshay Kumar but if we still ask to Chandraprakash Dwivedi by bottom of heart he still wants his Sunny as first choice.

#fufajibas akshay looked like he will sing "bala bala shaitan ka Sala" song in this get up. Very disappointed in the movie. They could've casted ranveer Singh or shahid kapoor in the role easily. Both did amazing work in padmavaat. Had sushant been alive i feel he would do the role well too. But casting 54 year old person as 26 year old samrat is stupidity of the director, the actors are doing their job, it's on the director to decide who to cast.. Plus manushi needs serious acting classes if she wishes to get good roles and not be another urvashi rautela.
