It's good that you chose a covered restaurant than a street food place. These places are a lot more hygienic and keep you from getting ill. I would suggest eating in small quantities till your stomach gets used to the spices. For light meals, you can eat curd rice. Very safe
Sorry maam real south Indian hotels are the ones that doesn't have place to sit and are swarmed by the locals around 100 of them at 6.30 am. Then you can say you have tasted real south Indian food . Obviously it's impossible for you to go to such place and I also won't even recommend 😅

Don't get a scooter,it's quite a challenge to drive in Bangalore and you will be busy stuck in traffic half the time and trying to find parking,moreover the constant horns might be intimidating

But you can learn simple things, like namaste, dhanyawad, etc. Even our south India can't understand Hindi. Now you can imagine how hard it is for you. I m from the north, and live in Maharashtra. I have a question. Do people in Bangalore understand Hindi? I know in Tamil nadu they don't. But I am not sure about Karnataka. The South is intelligent, and fully packed with sweet people Like really nice peoples are there compare to north

Vada is made of White Lentils, its our version on Donut [Savory version] usually eating with mixed Lentils + Veggies Stew/Soup called Sambhar.
