      I'm glad you found value. I always thought your country had abundance of cheap energy resources. And you didn't have to improvise like we do here :)

      @@Balkan_Living you are right. We are an oil country and we have huge reserves of energy. Our winters are mild and pleasant, but our summers are very hot. The problem in our country is that the government is very corrupt. Yes, energy prices are good and cheap. The price of 200 liters of white oil is only $50. But I am trying to be prepared for disasters and interruptions in energy supplies, especially since my country is politically volatile. 🌹

    Have you ever considered using dried shredded leaves mixed in with the sawdust and cardboard? I have never made any briquettes yet, but plan to

    • @Balkan_Living
      @Balkan_Living  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes I have been considering that, but from my experience that kind of briquette will provide more smoke and less heat, because of lesser density. Of the leaves. I also want to try different things for example adding cement in an attempt to make brick that have good isolation properties

      Yeah I was thinking to implement grinder for young branches of vines or fruit trees. You can use it if you have it but I wouldn't recommend buying it just to process waste biomass . Goal is to be self sustainable

    Grest job. I think it would be more beneficial if you were to add two 15mm copper pipes in the centre of each block and remove as the block is taken out of the press leaving two nice holes for a more thorough burn.

    • @Balkan_Living
      @Balkan_Living  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I agree that would help burn better , but in my case, i use them when I'm done for the day and i need to extend a couple more hours of almost free heat

    I have 2 questions 1 what did you use to make to make your briquet press out of ? 2. What size is each briquet?

    • @Balkan_Living
      @Balkan_Living  Před 10 měsíci

      It's made out of 3 mm thick iron plates, wielded together, the legs are from 4mm 2x2cm L shape. And the top part is from 4x4cm iron. The piston thing bars are is 2x2cm. Wall thickness is 3mm.
      If you plan to do your own I would suggest to be at least one MM thicker. Because over time will bend from the pressure. I hope this helps.
      The dimensions of the briquettes are 20x10cm and the thickness depends 6.7.8 cm. Depends of how much material you put into it. And how hard you press.

    Ja spremam presu sličnu za od naredne godine. Sa ovim odnosom koji si napisao 60:40 ono što me interesuje je ako uporediš brikete sa bukovim drvima koji bi odnos dao toplotne vrednosti i i koliko češće treba da se puni peć sa briketima? Pozdrav~

      Nakon sat vemena je 90% izgorreli briket I treba da se doda Novi, Nije potpuna zamena za drvo , Ali gori pored drveta dosta dobro. Ideja je bila da od kubika ''smece" spasimo 3 kubika drva tokom zime.
