A road trip is the perfect way to explore Tasmania. The distances between key centres are relatively short, the roads are excellent, and you never have to travel too far to see something amazing. To do a rough full circle of Tassie, you’ll need ten to twelve days. That will still see you moving reasonably quickly, but with time to tick off key sights and attractions along the way.
In this episode of our online travel series, we showcase ten amazing things to do on a road trip around the island. Our list includes the chance to shop up up a storm at Hobart's Salamanca Market, explore the splendour of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, cruise the Gordon Wild River, ride the West Coast Wilderness Railway, and get in touch with your inner convict at the Port Arthur Historic Site.

Did this some years ago. Bonorong was the high spot - went at sunset, helped Tony feed the animals. Amazing, loved it.

I'm glad I live in Tasmania
We flew to Auckland and took a cruise down the west coast that was headed to Sydney. We jumped ship in Hobart, rented a car and circled Tasmania for a week. Dove Lake, Wineglass Bay, all the stuff on the video. It’s a long way to go, but the trip of a lifetime when you do.
I’m so glad I saw this video, as a solo traveler it’s always good to see what might be still enjoyable alone.

Great place for a holiday, otherwise the highest house prices and rentals and lowest wages in the country. Excellent place to move to and Rot on minimum wage or get into public service.

There is not many fun things to do around Tasmania beside sightseeing most of it is country and bush and if you go anywhere fun you will get harassed by Bogans, so save your money and go to the Holocaust Museum its less depressing
