At the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325 Roman Emperor Constantine and the Catholic Church established Sunday as a day of rest. And at the Council of Laodicea around 365, the Catholic Church made it illegal to “Judaize” or be idle from work on the seventh-day Sabbath.
The Bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ observed the Saturday Sabbath, and His apostles also observed the Sabbath after His death.

New moons, sabbaths, meat, drink etc were part of ceremonial laws which were a “shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ” (Colossians 2:7). Meaning they pointed to the ministry of Christ. Once Christ came and died for us, we don’t have to do it. But the 7th day Sabbath is different from the ceremonial Sabbaths. If you look at Leviticus 23, you’ll be able to see both the 7th day Sabbath and ceremonial Sabbaths. The 7th day Sabbath is mentioned as the Sabbath of the LORD, which is the same as mentioned in the 10 commandments. This Sabbath was not a “shadow of things to come” as it didn’t point to the future ministry of Christ. But rather was a memorial of Creation, “Exodus 20:11
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”. And was given before Jews, and so we are bound to keep it along with the rest of the Ten Commandments.

    • @danielcharles777
      @danielcharles777 Před měsícem +2

Doesn't Colossians 2:14-17 do away with the seventh-day Sabbath?
Answer: Not at all. It refers only to the sabbaths which were "a shadow of things to come" and not to the seventh-day Sabbath. There were seven yearly holy days, or holidays, in ancient Israel which were also called sabbaths. These were in addition to, or "beside the sabbaths of the Lord" (Leviticus 23:38), or seventh-day Sabbath. These all foreshadowed, or pointed to, the cross and ended at the cross. God's seventh-day Sabbath was made before sin entered, and therefore could foreshadow nothing about deliverance from sin. That's why Colossians chapter 2 differentiates and specifically mentions the sabbaths that were "a shadow." These seven yearly sabbaths which were abolished are listed in Leviticus chapter 23. Additionally, Colossians 2:14 qualifies that it was the “handwriting of ordinances that was against us” that were “blotted out” at the cross. Therefore, all the, “new moons”, “feast days” and “Sabbath days” that are mentioned in verse 16 can only be those contained in the “handwriting of ordinances that were against us”. But what were these “handwriting of ordinances”? It had to do with the Jewish ceremonial laws that were written down on paper by the hand of Moses, not the finger of God on stone. Also, it had to do with all those ceremonial ordinances that were “against us”. In Deuteronomy 31:24-28, we are told that all those ritual laws that were “against us” were written by Moses in the “book of the law”. The passage is clear that this “book of the law” was placed in a side pocket of the Ark of the Covenant. According to Deuteronomy 10:5, the “tables” of stone were placed inside the Ark! Clearly, the Sabbath of the 4th commandment was part of the Ten Commandments placed inside the Ark of the Covenant, and not classified with the “shadow Sabbaths” of Colossians 2:14-17 that pointed forward to Christ’s death. The “shadow Sabbaths” along with the entire ceremonial law pointed FORWARD to Christ’s death, and these were nailed to the cross. The Sabbath of the 4th commandment points BACKWARD to creation. It was not made “against” us, but “for” us. “The Sabbath was made for [not against!] man” (Mark 2:27).

We are to obey God and his commandments, not following man. We still need to follow the 4th commandment as instructed by God, to honor and keep the Sabbath holy.
It was the Roman emperor Constantine who had ordered to "change the Sabbath" to Sunday; because he like other Romans at the time, where Pagan sun-worshippers.
God had established the Sabbath as the actual day of rest & worship, not Sunday.
Jesus even stated that he had come to fulfill the law, not change it.
      Blessings.

@@jesusdanielramirez You've been taught the LIES for so many years and yet you're not able to discern the Contextual messages of the Bible. Remember the Old Testament or the Mosaic Laws that includes the 10 Commandments were given to Moses for the Israelites/Jews and not for Christians. Besides there were no Christians back then. More LIES because Constantine has nothing to do with the Sunday Worship. I already quoted Acts 20:7 that the earliest Christians were already practicing it. St. Paul quoted it sometime 62AD whereas Constantine were persecuting the Christians and St. Paul was even imprisoned. Constantine made a Decree in Milan in 313AD giving the Christians freedom to practice their Religion. You can check the veracity of my explanation because its History and you cannot change history by LIES. Don't be a blind follower. If you're a member of the SDA or the JW did they told you and even believed that JESUS was Michael Archangel? If so, then better leave those CULTS because they're not Christians. Because GOD took a HUMAN FORM in the Person of JESUS. Pls check John 1:1 & 1:14. JESUS came to fulfill the law. it was just a shadow of things to come or as galations said an old schoolmaster. rest has to be understood to understand the sabbath, JESUS is the one to give us eternal rest if we believe and confess him as LORD and saviour. we will enter his rest. thats why he is the LORD of the sabbath.

    • @TonysRagequit
      @TonysRagequit Před 9 měsíci +2

@@omarbradshaw983 Jesus is not the Sabbath, he is the Lord of the Sabbath. This means, the Sabbath was given by him, so if we want to keep his commandments, we have to keep the Sabbath.
Hebrews 4 says, that there is a rest, that the Jews didn't enter. It also mentions Joshua. What does Joshua have to do with the Sabbath? Nothing, he wasn't the one, through whom the Sabbath was given, but he was the one, who brought the Israelites into Canaan. So the true rest is not an earthly rest in the land of Canaan, but a heavenly rest in the new world. The author of Hebrews compares the rest in heaven to the rest on a Sabbath. But where does he say, that because we don't have the heavenly, eternal rest yet, we should throw away the day of rest, that we already have? Do you burn down your house, because Jesus said, "There are many rooms in my Father's house"?
The Sabbath never made it unlawful to do good works, like visit the sick or feed the poor. But it does forbid "secular" work like going to your job, harvesting or gathering firewood. We mustn't confuse "works" (= acts) and "work" (= chores and job) here.
You also used Galatians 3:24-25. Are you trying to say, that we don't have to keep the law? On what basis did Jesus tell us to repent and not sin anymore, if "through the law comes the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20) and "sin is the transgression of the law" (1. John 3:4)? Paul also writes, "Shall we remain in transgression, that grace may abound? Certainly not! How can we, who are dead to sin, live any longer in it?" (Romans 6:1), and ,"Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! We establish the law!" (Romans 3:31) What kind of faith would lead you to break the law, if by the law comes the knowledge of sin? "Can this kind of faith save anyone?" (James 2:14) James also says, that "faith without works is dead." (James 2:17) If our faith causes us to sin, we should seriously question our faith.
Jesus said, he came to set us free from sin. (John 8:34-36) If he sets us free from sin, how can we say that we don't have to keep the law? The law curses him, who breaks it, not him, who keeps it, so if Jesus sets us free from sin, we are no longer under the curse of the law, because if we don't sin, we don't break it, and we have someone who sets us free from the punishment of our transgression. Shall we now spit in his face, by deliberately choosing to live in sin? "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:26-29)

I really appreciate the courage of this man when he preaches, especially on topics related to the events of the last three years. As for this subject, I am sorry to say that what he tried to explain about the true sabbath is not biblical but rather tradition. And tradition in many theological aspects is quite different compared to biblical teaching.
At creation, God not only created everything on this earth (vegetation, animals, man) but also that period of time, which we today call the week. If the seventh day was not a 24-hour day, then the concept of a week disappears. Likewise, when God gave the Jewish people the Law of the Ten Commandments through Moses, God used exactly the same words as at creation. The fourth commandment refers to a 24-hour day and not to a spiritual day. Furthermore, neglecting to observe the Sabbath brought death to that person. God Himself said this, and He was extremely angry with the people when they disobeyed this commandment. This clearly shows the importance of this day to God. Where in the New Testament is it mentioned that God canceled his own Law and changed the day of worship from the seventh day Saturday to the first day of the week Sunday? Paul said with reference to the Decalogue that the Law is holy, righteous and good Rom 7.12
What reason would God have to nullify his own Law as long as it is HOLY, RIGHTEOUS AND GOOD.

We are told to love God with all our heart, mind and soul and that we be reconciled unto him... If we do what God hates how yet can we say we love him with all our heart, mind and soul as we were commanded to do.
Jesus and the disciples taught the law of Moses and Jesus even said your thoughts should be bridled and controlled.
If someone pays your fine and the judge frees you it is not so you can continue the crimes that brought upon you the fine. If you are reconciled to the father of whom you were seperated from because of your sinful actions it hardly makes logical sense that you are reconciled to him to continue in those same sinful actions.
We are meant to be dead to sin and not living in it - not following two masters but crucifying the fleshly desires and seeking the spiritual
The second coming of Yeshua (The Messiah, Christ, Jesus) is coming near, Please all who say they are of Christ read these verses below and seek the truth; the truth that all transgression of the law is sin and none of the laws of Moses were done away with, the truth that Yeshua (Jesus) himself states that he does not abolish any of the laws of his father (he himself is the word, the law and so to say you abide in him yet not all the law makes ye a liar). Read the verses below that speak of God unchanging and of how we are meant to walk as Christ walks and hence following the commandments of God given to Moses including the vast expanse of Leviticus (of course it is believed Yeshua caused for such as blood sacrifices to be finished as he became the atoning sacrifice amongst other factors).
If you seek to truly love and serve God, Jesus and the holy spirit in full truth I implore you also seek teachings such as those about Sabbath's from 119 ministries, Jim Staley, Rico Cortes, bill Cloud, brad Scott and others... Another vital and important teaching would also be "Truth or Tradition" by Jim Staley.
Any who believe that the words of Paul and others including Yeshua (Jesus) himself change or abolish laws.... I can tell you there are deep contextual understandings required and that many of the verses you have heard have been plucked out leaving verses that add the necessary context to be sitting in the book - but alongside this there is a deep culture and context in the era the scriptures were written that if you lack the understanding of will cause you to misunderstand the true meaning of the scriptures today with Paul's writing's requiring much of that understanding although if you remember it was false accusations that he was teaching against the laws of Moses and see that it should give you an idea as to how Paul has been misinterpreted by the current churches with many going against the Bible's very verses stating clearly such were false accusations.
Remember also that Yeshua (Jesus) actually spoke that even thoughts are counted as to iniquity (sin) and such makes sense if we are to love God with all our heart, mind and soul... We are implored to hold our very thoughts unto his ways and his standards also.
May God guide and bless those with open and truth seeking hearts that desire to love him truly to allow them to read these words here and these scriptures and to walk in full repentance as God truly desires 🙏🏽
      2 Timothy (2 Ti) 2:19 CJB
Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, stamped with these words: “The Lord knows his own,” and, “Let everyone who claims he belongs to the Lord stand apart from wrongdoing.”
      Matthew 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      Matthew 5:17-22
"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.
      Mark (Mrk) 9:43‭, ‬45‭, ‬47 CJB
If your hand makes you sin, cut it off! Better that you should be maimed but obtain eternal life, rather than keep both hands and go to Gei-Hinnom, to unquenchable fire! And if your foot makes you sin, cut it off! Better that you should be lame but obtain eternal life, rather than keep both feet and be thrown into Gei-Hinnom! And if your eye makes you sin, pluck it out! Better that you should be one-eyed but enter the Kingdom of God, rather than keep both eyes and be thrown into Gei-Hinnom,
      1 John 2:3-6
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
      1 John 5:2-3
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
      John 14:15
"If you love Me, keep My commandments.
      Malachi 3:6
      "For I am the LORD, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob
      Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law
      Romans 6:1-2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
      James 2:24
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Countless times the apostles demonstrated that they were adhering to the Sabbath.
    Acts 13:14
    Acts 13:44
    Acts 17:2
    Acts 18:4
Now Colossians 2:16 deals with judging someone in how they honor the sabbath, just as Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath and that he is Lord over the Sabbath. Mark 2:27-28.
Also, ask yourself why all of the Ten Commandments are still in affect except for the one that says “Remember...”. Why would Jesus instruct us his followers to pray against distress in a sabbath day if he intended on it to be done away with?!? Matthew 24:20 “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:”.

We mustn't judge others and use Hosea 4:6 in this context (cause you literally mean that those that don't go to church on the sabbath are not of God and are going to hell), we all know how Jesus rebuke the pharisees when tried to pin him down using the sabbath, for we pray to one God and no one on earth apart from Christ fulfilled all 10 commandments.

The pass over in Egypt where the angel of death passed over all houses with the blood of the Lamb! The same day Jesus was put in the tomb! Thursday, Friday, Saturday, then on Sunday!, while they were still asleep! He rose again! So in this case Sabbath was on a Wednesday! It is an eternal covenant. Unfortunately you forgot that in the new testament it's given a proper explanation, which you also understand because I'm pretty sure you are not circumcised. Well apply the same logic to the sabbath.
The sabbath is Jesus's rest. Where a person does not need to do works to be saved but does works because he is saved.
Instead of 1 day all 7 days. That's the truth of the new testament.
If you keep the law then you didn't die to it. Will you yell at a corpse for not doing something good on a sabbath or on the day after sabbath, why doesn't a corpse go to synagogue? Same thing here. You must die for sin and for the Law.

"1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
"2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.
"It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible."
