My god this song ( and album) - shaped my 90's life - going thru a divorce, getting fucked by the Army as a soldier, and trying to figure out my life. This Album honestly gave me comfort, and allowed me to continue....God I love the Breeders...Thanks Kim et al!
And they (SnubTV) stuck him in a back room and didn't even film him. I wanted to watch the master perform! I've been looking for footage...no luck so far...
Great track to recall and enjoy again. Breeders were always one of my favorites. And this video is the icing on...whatever you like icing on. Thanks for posting. 🎨
Oh she knew it too lol. Tanya Donnely was the college alt rock IT girl. I kind feel she's been overlooked in music history tho. She was one of the influences on the shape of music as we have it now.
Incredible solo i prefer this sound with tonya over the rest of breeder albums and belly. This is the only time tanya played heavy her other 2 bands pop alternative. Im sure tanya taught both deal sisters how to play guitar.
ever heard of the pixies dude kim was writing some of their best songs when she could get them to play them... easier for a chick to play guitar than bass I am sure
Why would she do that? Kim Deal is an independent woman who don't need no man. Plus, she's just way cooler than Kurt. He would have been the first one to say so.
What could have been... drugs sux... took way too many talented people & f...ked them up beyond their ability to express themselves... this is the nascent stages of the ORIGINAL Breeders as intended- a collaboration between Tanya Donelly & Kim Deol- this is from their 1st releases [Kim songs] & the 2nd was going to be Tanya songs... but that never happened as Kim went on tour with the Pixies & the song Gepetto which was written by Tanya for the Breeders became the Big Hit for her own band Belly instead [ czcams.com/video/gQlk8eKdIIA/video.html ]
Not just Gepatto. All of the songs on the first Belly album were originally destined to be on the second Breeders album. Tanya still has the Star demos with Kim playing on them and the band name listed as "The Breeders". But, as you say, Tanya got tired of waiting for Kim to be able to commit because she went on a really long Pixies tour so she decided to leave and form her own band. They had a bit of a falling out for a while when Tanya announced she was quitting the band.
I never understand all the love for Tanya Donelly. She's the least talented out of Kim Deal, Kristin Hersh from Breeders/Muses and got lucky to ride the wave of grunge with her average band Belly. She's one of those types that seems to get automatic praise for some reason. Also the Deals were hotter.
you're pretty wrong about everything you just said, but you do you. She's a great guitarist, and she wrote great songs with Belly. Both of those 90s albums are classic great alt music. King is quite an exceptional album. And her early solo material was brilliant and emotive, nuclear-ly bright and charming.
@@chasbodaniels1744 Cool, you know guitarist lingo. But you're attacking a strawman construct. Nobody has argued that Ms Donnelly was the most creative, technically gifted guitarist ever. But you're attacking that notion like it's your life's work. I guess that makes up for your lack of celebrity? Hard to understand, really, why someone would go to the point of using strident language against a guitarist and musician he's never met.

I have to say it.
Tanya Donnelly is criminally underrated.
Best part of the Throwing Muses and Star from Belly is a classic.
@@devildoubt I mean, let's not downplay Kristin here, either. They are better together.
Belly had quite a lot of success in the 90s
She has never been underrated in my book, loved her stuff from the Muses days
Love how she shakes it at the end.

Awesome & with Tanya XXXX
I always thought the breeders bass player was the sound that brought the whole song together.
And the drums.
@@vincevirtua your rite. Never really thought bout that till now. Their drums are like no other....
A bit like Kim in the Pixies, her bass was awesome

Love this tune, this band. Fantastic combo of talents, and what style! Thanks for sharing.
My life. Kim is just amazing.
Tayna Donnelly was having a blast in this song
Pod and Last Splash were and still are my favorites. I just feel the live performances never got better than back then.
Ya gotta love chicks with picks!
love Kim,
Apparently every 15 years of my life I am to fall in love with Tanya Donnelly all over again... DAMMIT
Is that such a bad thing? I think my cycles have been a bit more frequent, but they go back 30 or more years... Yikes, that's a long time. 😭
Love for Kim Deal !
I'd freak if I ever saw the bassist crack a smile.
Too cool for school!
she is british, after all 🤗

@Ogle products - go walk into a brick wall somewhere, dude.
i love this band
Great Song - kind of has a bit of a Talking Heads vibe to it - early Heads, like something off "Fear of Music".

This was the best The Breeders lineup. Too bad they only recorded one album together.
Malchik Blue why are you so rude? Just randomly insulting people?? What’s with you?
Great Ohio band
Tanya Donnelly was hella shtuppable back in the day with her legit Les Pauls and Captain Freedom-level riffage.
That's the highest compliment you can give her? That she was worth having sex with? As we would say in the '90s.....how lame.
holy f'n moly. i clicked twice.
Looks like the drummer is in the other room! What he do wrong?
He's a man
hard to tell, but i believe it was britt walford from slint during this era.

Britt Walford from Slint!
