Colorado National Monument (May 2024)

Colorado National Monument is a breathtaking natural preserve located near Grand Junction in western Colorado. It is characterized by its stunning red rock canyons, towering monoliths, and expansive plateaus, which showcase the dramatic geological history of the region.
Established in 1911, the monument spans over 83 km² and features rugged terrain carved by millions of years of erosion and iconic formations such as Independence Monument, a 137 meters tall sandstone spire (03:20).
