"I'm a Townshend fan" says it all about Roger Daltrey's utter humility and submission to what essentially was the composer of one of the greatest pieces of rock music in history. I wish they still did these TNT specials in this manner (AMC used to do mini interviews with various performers and commentators as well) because it gives such a great back-story which adds to the magic of the film you're about to see. It's such a fast food society now that people just don't have the attention span to even appreciate or understand what Daltrey is getting at here, especially about the dedication of someone like Ann-Margret to his/her/their art. Thanks for this little gem. I too stopped watching TV a few years back, but had seen Tommy on the On Demand feature of our cable provider, but it was without this or any other setup or interview, and to that date I hadn't heard or really appreciated the album in its entirety until about two years ago.

Roger, you were no sleazebag yourself. Perhaps one of the most ATHLETIC persons to ever be a major lead signer.

Don't hate me but I went to see a showing of Tommy this weekend for the 40th anniversary of the film. There was a Q&A at the end - with Roger - and I met him afterwards! I got a hug.... He is do unbelievably lovely. Words aren't enough.

Hi Matthew, weeeel, you know, jealousy and all that! I've since met him again at the Champagne tasting he had in London to launch his own champers to raise funds for Teen Cancer America. He was lovely then, too, said hello like he knew me and we just got chatting! He's so down to earth. So easy to chat to.

I know many of the filming locations, being a Portsmouth resident. Quick fact - Ann Margret is only 3 years older than Roger Daltrey.

The bassist was making sounds that the audience thought were coming from Pete's guitar; many Who fans enjoyed John's playing, but yah Pete and Keith visually exciting to watch.
