The aftermarket trunk lid grip part usually includes a gasket that is much thicker than factory spec. Before installing check around the rectangular openings for the mounting points and reseat the foam if it is overlapping the plastic. Do not over torque the screws down onto your new fat gasket or the plastic will be working on a new crack from day one. Don’t ask me how I know. Anyway, first e46 video I found that showed the connector removal. Thanks.

Is the cable in the middle for the license plate light ?
Can you do a video on fixing the license plate lights for an e46
Sedan or wagon?
@@AKJeeper i have an e46 m3 coupe
I was able to put up a video on a e46 sedan. Should be pretty much the same process: czcams.com/video/Y3lo-kZWllc/video.html
The Amazon ones don't last too long?
Amazon ones are hit and miss. So far, my customer has reported that this one has been holding up just fine.
