Don't know if you watched on OC3D but Tom talks about these particular fans needing a full 12V constantly because of the Maglev bearing so your low and medium voltage controller wears them out and makes them louder. I'd suggest getting a PWM controller and allowing the fans to run at 12V with PWM control for speed
They don't need 12v constantly to function as clearly they are working fine. A high quality fan will be okay and clearly these are. I haven't noticed anything odd with bearing noise not having them at 12v.
+Racerprose They aren't bearings as such but they float using electro magnets. I'm just letting you know because that came from Corsair themselves as press info to OC3D
+Racerprose and I'm talking long term noise not after a week
You are right in an ideal situation one should run them off the mobo fan headers, but if you don't have enough you don't have an easy option in front of you. Most mobos don't have 8 fan headers. And if your case has the built in controller many people will use it. I've ordered some Noctua 4pin extension cables and 4pin splitters to run them off the mobo headers. This will allow me to run 2 fans on one header. I should have enough then.
+Racerprose Are you sure? Most motherboards do run With PWM on fanheaders. BUT it is only the two cpufan headers that is controlled by it.nand it US control we Are looking for. So you would Want a fan splitter With a power cable. Because most headers Can only handle 1amperage power draw on each header.
have them myself, very nice with red light :)
You are completely using the fans wrong and this video is so much misinformation on the LEDs and the noise. You are NOT suppose to operate these fans by voltage, they are supposed to be controlled via PWM. They are suppose to receive a constant 12V and then the PWM circuit tells them how fast to operate.By you doing this Low, Medium, High based on your voltage fan controller you are spreading a misinformation about the LEDs, the LEDs do not change in brightness when they are PWM controlled! That only happens when they are voltage controlled which these fans are not supposed to be! Get yourself a PWM fan controller or connect them to your motherboard that have PWM control.
Everything you mentioned is correct. Not to mention variable voltage control of PWM fans can damage the fan's controller circuitry.
Even at low i'm still hearing the noise. This red one is at amazon for $27.99 right now. That's still too much for a freaking fan
27.99 is extremely cheap what you talking about?
I swapped out the fractal design case fans for two 140mm in the front and a single 120mm exhaust. Much better, the fractal case fans hardly did anything
Are these good for a radiator? Looking through the comments people complain about pwm control and I know you can control them through the cpu fan connecter
check for fans that are ment to press air trough objectives that are nearby. There are 3 kinds of fans. One is for general airflow, one for pushing air nearby objectives and one that can do both decent. you are looking for one that can push air closeby
He means Static Pressure, like the SP120 fans
I would you recommend to check out the one from Noiseblocker the E-Loop series or also the EKWB Vardar Fans, those two kinds of Fans are really great for Static Pressure especially for radiators
Hey, can you turn off led?
No.
you can get the Noctua industrial fans and buy the colored chromax corners.
True, but no LED :/
You can always add led strips if you want lighting in the case. The Noctua fans are more silent. I bought a ML fan to compare to my Noctuas.
I have the same case and the connectic of the fans are compatible with the 3 pins of the 780t ?
How do you control the fans speed bro
Did you direct connect them on mobo or you used fans controller ? Thanks for answering
Your question is asked wrongly. It depends how many you want to connect what uses and controls you specifically need. No need to control to controller if under 5 fans because most mobo can support pwn 5 fans. At least 3. Also controller are more geared towards ARGB nowadays.
Which way does it blow which way it sucks air İts urgent please answer
I purchased 2x140mm fans for $8 and 1x120mm fan for $3 in a deal
I have the non led ones :) 3 140s, 3 120s... I'm pleased with my purchase
Benjamin Zubaca noctua y-fan splitters, or you could use a splitter like this one www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00OD7MO6E/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1478462675&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=phobya+fan+splitter&dpPl=1&dpID=41o1gwZoDTL&ref=plSrch
Benjamin Zubaca No need to apologise. The phobyia one you have to have them all set to the one header you plug that into (kind of annoying) with splitter cables you have 2 fans running off one headers speed.. I have my two cpu fans on one split, two top case fans on one split, then the middle front on its own header, bottom and top front split, and rear on its own header.. I hope this kinda makes sense?
Benjamin Zubaca No, you can control the rpm with the cable, but both fans spin at the same speed.. no you can't cut off the brown thing.. the brown thing plugs into your motherboard header, then two fans plug into the other end, or do you mean the label?
Benjamin Zubaca Yeah chop them off if you wish
Benjamin Zubaca The splitter plugs into one motherboard header, basically turning it into two headers, the fans are then plugged into the cable, you can control the RPM yes, but both fans will spin at the same speed as the PWM signal is coming from the one header on the motherboard
do the replacement corners come with it?
Sadly no.
The RGB fans are a cheaper fan, because they are NOT Magnetic Levitation
Hey bud, what CPU cooler are you using :).
noctua nh-d15s
Thanks~!
The S also gives a little bit more clearance for the top GPU slot
Asus ROG has 120mm maglev fans, they're absolutely fantastic. Far better than Corsair as well as Noctua.
How much did all those fans cost ya?
$40 for the 140mm and $35 for the 120mm
6 of these fans will set you back $200 in Canada. I purchased the last ones before they are sold out. You need to spend another $100 for a special digital pulsed 12 V fan controller for these on top of that.
why not buy water cooler corsair h100x much better than noctua and nicer
what's the point of lightening the whole system if then you even can't slpeep with turned on PC!
I don't sleep near my PC :)
***** sometimes you need to render a lot of stuff for projects!
i can at least earn 50 bucks overnight for botting and i am college student so it is decent enough for me.
Rubik then it means your house is too small. Most people uses laptop or tablets and tv in their rooms. And have a dedicated pc room and for enthusiast a silenced server with PC in that room.
i will get these in white led's
Ok thanks but these fans come with 5y warranty and double the life time of fans..
You are correct!
So ugly frame! My Cooler Master Jetflows are looking more beautiful!I have 4 120 in Corsair air 540.What is that sound blaster z in your pc?
i don't see less noise than noctua
If you can see noise, you're god.
or having a stroke
+DrumRoody Bahahaha
harshlens it is youtube and not radio to listen to it!
+Rubik So CZcams doesn't have sound? Or you can see the sound because it's CZcams??
ugly, old sp140 red led look nicer
noctua fans are trash. they under perform all the time. you'll get about 80% of the airflow and 120% of the noise. my 140mm 1500RPM noctua fans are LOUDER and push like HALF the air that my 2000 RPM EK Vardar fans push. the only thing noctua has going for it is their marketing department.
800rpm, almost no noise when i have my ear 5 cm to it. and my cpu is 50c under full load. so i think it is good enough for me.
how do ppl even have 1k+ RPM fan in their system? there must be something wrong.
Kerwin CHAO you got that damn right. i had H100 the very first edition on my 3930k, damn its jet everyday.
Kerwin CHAO yeah used to have 1200RPM not even PWM.
now 600rpm ftw.
these fans are extremly loud even on low settings, overpriced crap to be honest
Noise is subjective.
Racerprose
Maybe for deaf people, loud is loud, simple as that.
AkcesoriumPC it's quiet at hell at 1200 rpm
AkcesoriumPC is COMPLETELY full of shit! I got 3 ML120's LED BLUE's in my Silverstone GD09 HTPC and they are virtually inaudible at 1000 rpm unless you press your freaking head against the case!
moe butt 1000rpm is nothing!! turn it up to 1600rpm
