    I seen plenty of literature that says that the Indians didn’t know who built this stuff from the 1800s

      The Scioto-Hopewell, and Adina cultures who were the makers of these earthworks, were long gone before the arrival of European colonists. This is also part of why there is such mystery and debate around the purpose and use of these earthworks, as many of the tribes who followed had no culture connection to the their creation, and mostly served as stewards of these earthworks. Although there is a lot in depth archeological analysis that bring light to the ideas and spiritual rituals / burials that happened there. And a well documented spread of the hopewell and Adina cultures around North America through various artifacts, pipes, and burials
