    I definitely think the post credit scene is sequel baiting, but I don’t think it is setting up another prequel sequel with Hitler and WWII. The important thing is that the Shepherd society survived past the death of Morton, and was carried on by Zemo, doing things behind the scenes, like an anti-Kingsman organisation. I think this film, in part, is setting up that bad group to be the main antagonist in the third modern Kingsman film.

    • @PyroOfZen
      @PyroOfZen Před rokem +4

      @@mr.stuffdoer8483 Nah, that's bullshit. It's easy to cry "But the soldier was wrong" because we already knew he was wrong, but as far as that soldier was concerned, a German soldier had killed his friend, taken his uniform, and was trying to fall into their ranks. That is far from the craziest thing spies pulled throughout the war. Then when you consider the aggression and fear soldiers were constantly having to process, or subsequent numbness, not to mention the adrenaline dump from the firefight they'd just had not even a minute prior, it's no wonder he didn't hesitate to shoot.
      Should he have held off until more information was revealed? Definitely. Was it right that he took a shot on what was effectively just a hunch? Absolutely not. None of that makes it unbelievable. Oh, and unless everyone present hated his guts before this exchange, it's likely he wasn't sentenced to death for his rashness. The other soldiers were all there and saw all the same things, and were likely just as suspicious. A lot of wrongdoings were swept under the rug. Even after determining that Conrad wasn't a spy, it's easy for everyone there to claim he was struck by a German bullet. That's far from the worst thing they'd have to live with due to the war.

    I already liked the movie, but your reaction made me view it as more objectively better, as I realised that the acting, the choreography and the set-pieces/action sequences in particular were all really great. And to me, this movie is like an inverse of the first film, particular with Orlando and Conrad, the father-son roles are swapped with the son dying and the father taking his place (in essence), and even many of the scenes such as the no man's land fight, which in terms of narrative placement mirrors the first film because it directly precedes Conrad's sudden death but it is literally the inverse of the church fight, which was extremely bombastic and loud, mainly due to the music, but the fight in this film is literally in dead silence. Great film, easily better than the Golden Circle.

Gavrilo, failed in his mission, went for a coffee to clear his mind, and it was there Franz Ferdinand's car took a wrong turn and ended up at the cafe, right in front of Gavrilo. So, over a long enough time, the royal houses of Europe all get intermarried -- multiple times! it's kind of a weird social constraint, but it's generally true! It was a decent enough movie. Slightly under the previous two ones tho.
    I am still flabbergasted as a french person that in this 2h10m movie about *the first world war,* the words "France" or "french" were not uttered even a single fckn time.
    Like where do y'all think Conrad went dying ?? On a neutral ground that was specifically made for Germany and England to fight ?? Seriously the movie was sooooo english it was hilarious, like they were talking about how "england is doomed" when not a single fckn battle had been carried in england yet (a few bombings, not that they showed it either). It was France (and Germany obviously too) who saw its territories devastated and soldiers killed. England did send a lot of troops obviously, but the fact that in a movie whose one of its themes appear to be denouncing the horror and pointlessness of war to be this partial on which country they want to denounce that pointlessness about.
    Even the german soldiers that Conrad kills were humanized and in a way represented, and people were speaking german, but when he arrived in the trenches (which btw etymologically obviously comes from french) everyone spoke perfect british english, like they did not even bothered to throw at least a french accent like they did for the Kaiser and the Tsar...
    I think at this point I'd have preferred they talked shite about us rather than straight up erasing us from the entire story.
    Anyway apart from that the movie was nice, a lot of people seem to say that Conrad's death was unexpected, but as soon as he managed to go to the frontline I already knew it was over. WWI was just a slaughter, he statistically had no chance to achieve anything, and even less to survive.
    The visuals and choregraphy were wonderful, even though the less modern settings didn't allow for as many fun gadget as the other two, you could see the seeds being planted here and there.
    I did like that the movie (despite what I criticized above) did not shy away from showing how awful the war was, and how no, it REALLY wasn't an "honor" to fight for your country, and that you were just gonna end up dead and useless.
    It did saddened me that the characters weren't that developped tho, I would've love to know more about Shola, Polly, or even Orlando himself.
