  • Denzel Washington plays a very different role as the Equalizer in this action packed film. He is a modern day Knight trying to protect his neighborhood. And he is enacting justice!

Russian prison tattoos are a whole language of their own and a very fascinating subject.
For an explanation of Russian prison tattoos via western cinema - Eastern Promises, with Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen. Go in with caution - It's directed by David Cronenburg and is rather violent both physically and emotionally.

Classic TV series becoming films or film franchises and actually being successful is a rarity.
    One is Mission Impossible.
The other would be The Equalizer.
One individual to even up the odds for the innocent.
Bringing the pain to the bad guys that deserve it.
I loved the classic tv series (1985-1989) as an kid.
To have one of the great accomplished actors/filmmakers of film make something like this is very rare.
Denzel as McCall/co-producer and Fuqua directing didn't try to copy the show, beat for beat (except for the last shot).
I saw it in the IMAX format and it became Denzel's highest grossing film ever.
Part 2 is a must-watch, even more kick-a** and grossed more than the first.
It was revamped into a new original series with Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall and one of the producers.
Part 3:The Final Chapter is out this summer and it's gonna be incredible.

How do we know he killed the guy he got the ring back from? He could’ve just smashed his hand. I think they didn’t show it to have us speculate but I don’t think he killed him. If he didn’t kill those cops who was extorting that woman I don’t see him killing the ring thief. He usually gives people a chance until they show him that they don’t deserve it

    13:10
He shut the door 3 times because he wanted to do the right thing and save the girl. But his late wife didn't want him being that guy that used to be.

This is a great movie but that part about how everyone can be whatever they choose kinda throws me off. Life is cruel, the real world is a hostile place full of monsters of the worst kind. Those who walk on two legs. Even your spouse or bestie may end up backstabbing you. So sellin such a message in a movie which is not a fairytale feels kinda fake. For so many reasons most of us won't be able to reach what we dream of.
Enjoyed this reaction. You have a very calm voice so it was a pleasure to listen to how You talk.

    • @ImonSnow
      @ImonSnow  Před rokem +1

Hi Konrad, I really appreciate your comment. I also can relate to your perspective because it is true for a lot of us. We have seen some darkness in this world. It sometimes does seem like it is only filled with the bad at times. I think what makes this movie interesting is it shows how one persons support, protection and nurturing nature can effect his fellow mans dreams. Because of Robert, Teri can be saved from her darkness and pursue whatever dreams she wants to pursue. Ralphie becomes a heroic security guard in the end and even saves Robert.
I will say after Teri gets on the bus it doesn't mean she becomes a singer 100 percent or her life is going to be some sort of fairytale, she now needs to work on her own discipline and find support systems and people she can trust etc. She could still end up down the wrong path and back at square one or even worse she could die. But that is what life is, we have no idea what happens tomorrow we just have to work at things we enjoy and find some happiness in the day to day.
If Robert had been a man who only cared about himself then these two characters would still be stuck in their darkness. I think the movie shows us that We can choose to wake up everyday and be a better person or we can choose to not care and go further into the darkness. Like David Harbours character says in the movie, he used to be a good cop (protect and serve) but the darkness finally got to him.
Robert has also been met with his own darkness and sadness but it doesn't stop him from believing in others and shining his light for those who need to see.
Long story short, we must be the change we want to see in the world no matter what, and create a discipline to do so and find that light within ourselves or family, friends, God etc and walk through this world shining that light for others. Keep your head up Konrad

@@ImonSnow I see. I think you're right, at least to some extent. Like also at some point You have said, people are just busy trying to survive each day. And finding someone as Robert is close to impossible. You can consider yourself blessed if you find at least anyone truly loyal in your life. But it's just the way I see the world and people. I prefer to be positively disappointed than let anyone or anything do harm. Anyhow if you enjoyed Equalizer I'd recommend You other movies if i may. Gran Torino or Boy Wonder from 2010. Both are worth watching. First one was directed by Clint Estwood and the second one is similar to Equalizer but not that well known. Or if You would like to have some laughs watch Gun Shy with Liam Neeson. Older movie but funny.Have a good night. At least here it is the middle of the night.

Denzel Washington is just great and The Equalizer belongs like the John Wick (Keanu Reeves) and Taken (Liam Neeson) movies to the new masterclass of revenge/vigilante movies. The Equalizer is a true to the heart successor of our former (or still) heroes of long gone times like Mr. Eastwood and Mr. Bronson: the king is dead, long live the king, so to say.
The Equalizer is great stuff - if you like your action spiced up with a good shot of violence.

I am not sure if that was deliberate or if it is just how you edited your video, but a lot of the questions you asked because you were talking over the dialogue and missed things that answered your questions. Are you the person that people hate watching movies with because you talk during the whole movie distracting people from trying to pay attention to the movie? Just food for thought to maybe improve your reaction videos.
