  • Ave Maria! Fr Philomeno brings us another helpful guided meditation on the third sorrow of Our Lady. By drawing upon moving aspects from his personal conversion from a life of sin to the Catholic priesthood, Father helps to strengthen our resolve to grow in holiness and console Jesus and Mary at Calvary.

Thank you 🙏🏽 you are teaching me so much and this meditation is exactly what I needed to do . I had a dream earlier today during a nap that I took, for a bad headache I was having . In the dream, I was finding items that a “neighbor”had lost and I was returning them to her in the dream and she didn’t care about those items. I thought they were valuable and meaningful and she didn’t really care about them. And I felt sort of confused and kind of sad that she didn’t care that I was going through the trouble of giving them to her. After waking up and talking about the dream w my husband and then just as I’m encountering this video I realize that what God was trying to tell me was that this is how Jesus feels when we take him for granted and reject or discard his treasure he has for us . He always trying to speak to us and we just don’t seem to care . I felt so sorry for having done that to my sweet lord and this meditation helped me realize that I need to be more grateful to him for his sacrifice for which I could never repay him. Thank you Lord Jesus for everything you have done for me ans all the ways in which you have given me grace ans mercy.

Fr. Philomena, please pray for a friend who has stage four spinal cancer. She is a young mother and is going to have to go with her family who has apostatized. They are good people who will love and take care of her physically and offer the support that she and her husband will need. Her husband has to wrap a few things up before he is able to be there. Please certainly pray for her healing, but also please pray for their conversion.

Why would Mary and Joseph have a cross in their home when Jesus was but a child and decades before they even knew of our Lord’s fate? It was a pleasure meeting you in Portsmouth and I love the fact you are a fan of the Black Cats.

Feel proud for what you are doing father:
Pope Benedict XIV, grants an indulgence of seven years and seven times forty days, every time, to all those who, in a church or elsewhere, either in public or in private, shall teach the manner in making mental prayer, as well as to those who attend such instruction, provided that each time, being truly penitent, they confess their sins and receive Holy Communion. To those who shall teach assiduously the way to make mental prayer, as well as to those who shall, with the same assiduity, learn how to make it, the same Pope grants a penary indulgence once a month, on any day, when, being truly penitent, after confession and Communion, they shall pray for the peace and union among Christian princes, for the extirpation of heresy, and for the triumpgh of the Church. These indulgences are applicable to the souls in Purgatory.
