Back when Eda’s had no worries that Luz would be in danger, when King wanted to be a tyrant, and when a return to the Human Realm hadn’t been found. Simpler times…
at the start luz could go back whenever she wanted, its just that she wanted to avoid summer camp

I love that over the course of the show, Luz ,Eda and king grow and feel like a weird, happy owl family and seeing the last three pages with Luz in the human realm, Eda with a worn out raine, and king with the collector is just very saddening and I hope that these weirdo’ see each other again

In a way, King is the one who is in the worst position right now. I mean Luz still has her friends and her love, Eda still has Raine (assuming they're still alive). King on the other hand is stucked with a child with the power of a god who has no empathy when he hurts others... Yikes...
But on the semi bright side, King is still in the same realm as eda and raine and hooty
I know we're worried, but I'm quite sure Raine is alive. I mean we saw the entire crowd at the spell get up okay, and yeah granted Raine was at the epicenter it's hard to believe that the rest of the witches there would be able to shrug it off and the coven heads wouldn't make it.

Worse case scenario, hooty could just talk a lot to the collector. They both talk fast, have short attention spans, and are weird.

Yeah, for some reason we never saw Luz telling about the promise to Eda and King because it was done off-screen but we did saw Luz telling it to Amity.
What she said at the end of "Yesterday's Lie" made me worry it was going to go the route of "protagonist hides secret that eats away at them", so I’m really glad she actually told them.
I was relieved that they did that too, moreover it was a huge relief that Amity also found out by the end of the next episode. I hate the secret keeping trope.
But regardless of she told people, that secret ended up still eating away at her, to the point where she thought about it in extremes. Her mom only said, "Come home", not once in there is, "Never go back"
And this is why I love Luz as a main character. She actually communicates with her friends and family about her problems, and they don't freak out about it.
So DID she tell them in the show itself or no?
@@dylansharp8471 yes she did. She does lie at the end of the mid season finale, but in the next episode after the hiatus both Eda and King know about it and discuss it with her.

Well ,the last picture just shows that Luz feels like she's failed. Eda is thinking what to do when Raine is unconscious and King is really stuck with the creator and Collector is rising himseft in Boiling island.

Best to hope in the future it’ll get better. I’m hoping the Clawthorn and Noceda family will merge(then Noceda, Clawthorn, and Blight minus Odalia.) then maybe the collector could be rehabilitated, because he doesn’t seem like a generic villain.

i don't think he's a villain at all, he just wants people to play with him, i've seen people think that the Collector doesn't know that he's hurting people, but I think he does know but he doesn't care that much, all he wants is people to play with him, he doesn't care if he hurts anyone, he knows he can hurt people with his power, but he only purposely hurts people who've wronged him.
This comic really tugs at our heartstrings.

The way I see the ending working out is luz's mom moves to the boiling isles and becomes a vet to magical creatures (I think her job was a vet or something). The collector is befriended and everybody gets therapy.

When Eda is on screen at the end it says "we'll stay together" because Eda wants to stay with King and Luz and when King is on screen it says "promise" because King made a promise to play with the Collector to keep everyone safe and that just makes me sad. 😥😢

While I'm sure the gang will make it back to the Demon Realm and save it and their families, minus Odalia hopefully, this is still pretty sad and heartbreaking, especially for Luz and the others. We as the audience may know or at least assume they'll get back and save the day because we understand storytelling, but the characters in universe don't know that so their heartbreaking moment still hits them hard and by extension, the audience as we love and relate to these characters and seeing them sad and hurt makes us sad and hurt. You see, you don't need to kill or have massive bloodshed in a show to make us sad and have stakes, if we're invested enough in the characters like we are with Luz and co then seeing them in trouble or sad and broken like here is enough to give us the audience sadness and dread over what's to come.
