KIRO7 should start pressuring/interviewing the prosecutors, judges, mayor and governor to point out the crime epidemic on camera and what are they going to do to help.
Agree, instead of just commiserating with the victims only. Go to the Root Cause.
I know people whose catalytic convertors were taken from their cars and their insurance did not cover the rental for the 2 months they needed to wait for a catalytic converter to become available for installation. Theft is never victimless and, in many cases, it is traumatic and a significant economic toll beyond the cost of what was lost.
If your poor and down and out....Heres some advice....Clean toilets, and wash dishes to get ahead.....live in a trailer with someone to cut rent. And if you have to Clean Toilets and Wash Dishes or empty port o poties take to of these jobs and work 16 hour or 17 hour days. If you think you are tough you can withstand this....and don't undue your hard efforts by getting married and having kids while doing so.....stay single for your whole life if you can.
Just don't say these jobs are beneath you and steal.
This happened to me last night in West Seattle right on 35th Avenue. Luckily somebody saw it happen contacted the police and an undercover policeman snagged her and took her to jail. It took several hours but we eventually got my car towed and I found a ride to Port Orchard where I live. Extremely inconvenient especially ever since everything is closed today. But I will get my rental car tomorrow. I live to work and I cannot afford to have any time off living paycheck to paycheck
Absolutely no point in hiring more officers if you have district attorneys not filing charges. People need to stop asking for government to solve the issue. It's time that..."We the people
take care of the problem and that starts by telling your local reps....Do not get in the way or else you'll be part of the problem. It is 'We the people' NOT 'We the government'..

I live in a low-income apartment and we've had a rash of break-in of our cars over the years. Some were gang related and recently the "Kia" boys break-ins.

It’s bc the PERPS also live in those low income areas, and they themselves have low income or no income, so they IMMEDIATELY turn to CRIME as a “solution,” and they’re too lazy to wander far, and they also want to stay where the area is familiar to them. Therefore, they are CONTRIBUTING to the HAVE NOTS not having. Meanwhile, the HAVES have more security systems, more cameras, better defense lawyers if they have to shoot a PERP, AND tougher Prosecutors in their jurisdictions (unless the PERP happens to be a little rich kid whose parents are well connected and the crime was a one-off incident from which they hopefully learn not to be a criminal).
More than likely the culprits are living in the complex

I was about to say, she should have left window rolled down, her second incident proves me wrong. These incidents should not be disregarded as low priority ones by the police.
They are treated as low priority because the low income areas have a low tax base, so there isn’t enough $ in the budget for enough police or to keep ppl in jail. Jail costs money.
Don’t we have leaders for this ? We have to complain for years to get help. Billions for street campers, blah blah blah, Do what your paid for do.
As an immigrant I’m afraid of having a record on this country, my understanding is that these people are afraid of work, why instead of letting them out on a couple of days, why they don’t put them to work to pay for damages they cause, if they are put to work, then they will be afraid to commit crimes, or come on, if you don’t want to work, let us work, how do you think you are getting your monthly check and food stamps.

The Low-income areas houses the suspects committing the crime. People from a well off area wouldn't travel to a low income area and wreck havoc.
In fact, History provides evidence to the contrary! All one has to do is look at, as well as understand, the history of Euro-Colonialism. The leaders of organized crime rings are actually wealthy compared to the people they're preying upon. I wonder who will ultimately benefit from this behavior? What is the desired outcome?

In Michelle's case they couldn't start the car so trashed it. I know Toyota's and Honda cost more but they cost more for a REASON as they are more reliable and orders of magnitude more difficult to boost compared to a kia with a usb stick(this is why kias/hyundais are cheap because they cut corners manufacturing the car), so in the long term you save money... I am not defending sc umbag criminals who shold spend a decade in jail BUT ppl can help themselves not be a target
