Tip... To avoid paint chips, when you start the spade bit, run it in reverse a few seconds, then go forward 👍
Or use the correct tool and not a wood drill bit 😂
@@petereastwood9791 don't laugh. It works no matter what your drilling. If chips or burs are a problem, run the bit backwards for a little while. Tip worked out great on my fiberglass boat, no matter what bit or what size. It even worked great with my 10" hole saw for speakers

I've been wanting to do a really wacky car build and this kind panel locking will help. My goal is to attach the fenders and bumpers to ball and socket connectors that are actuated by electric motors so I can press a button and all my panels will just fall off of the car like the Blues Brothers movie. It'll be a mice gag for shows and I can just pop everything back in like Legos

@nmbuilds, Did the screw drill through the fender(metal) too at 2:29? I'm looking at a corolla and see I might have to drill through fender, would the screw you shared be able to pierce a hole? And is it recommended?
Yes, for me it did. You can also use a small drill bit if that’s easier for you. It should do the trick.
Thanks for this. I suggest that you run a dry wall screw on the inside of the wheel well where the bumber is meeting the fender to correct the bumber flaring off. Awesome job though!
