I see this abjection all the time, "WW2 wouldn't happen". Of course it would. I severely doubt Italy was the reason Germany was so confident to invade Poland and without Italy, best case scenario is that the war starts sometime in 1940 instead. People keep throwing scenarios around but WW2 is an imperative in the same way that WW3 is. Even if it happens 3000 years from now, there will be a WW3 just like there would have been a WW2 even if you removed Italy from the equation.
Most of Germany’s claims on Italy took place after they had already flipped. Notice the reference to Italian treachery. Furthermore, the claims expressed in these videos are the MAXIMUM claims of these nations. In no way could all of these claims been satisfied.
WW2 is still happening in some form, although if it's UK, France and Italy vs Germany it would be a one-sided conflict. Who knows, maybe the Nazis would have maintained their friendship with the Soviets in lieu of losing Italy, leading to an unholy alliance between the two?
That's not easily possible, all Axis nations had completing interests. I'm sure you can find someone on reddit who could theoretically make one, but they don't usually take commissions.

I'm waiting with excitement part 3, I'm curious if it's true that they truly had designs in America, not only the US or Canada but Latin America, what would they want the continent to be.
Nothing serious. Like, there were some table talks that were never a part of the official policy, just wishful thinking that were completely void of reason and realism. But essentially, everything outside of the Generalplan Ost was not official and not a priority. Especially for places like Americas and Africa. Generalplan Ost was already extremely optimistic and if successful would take the entire century if not more to be finished and would eat all the time, resources, money and focus that Germany could muster. Even various topics within the rest of Europe were kinda non-defined (as you can see in the video) as Germans really did not care that much. It was mostly an afterthought. The priority was eastern expansion and reorganization of the order in the east. Everything else was not really planned, but had more of a "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" vibe. But sure, you could probably dig out some table talk about Germans planning planetary domination and expanding their influence into space as well. But those were nothing but a simple table talk and fantasies that no one really took seriously. Simply because even their main goal and reason for starting the war was already outside of their scope of possible. It made little sense to fantasize much about Americas, Africa etc.
I don’t know about what they would’ve done with North America, but I did see articles on how Germany planned to expand trade in South America, in the hopes of becoming their biggest trade partner, and achieving economic hegemony. They even planned to divide the continent into different countries under German control. Roosevelt presented a map concerning this, and while the map was a forgery, it was based off a real map to get South America into the New Order.
Your videos are very well researched. Not sure if this is your area of expertice but I'd love to see a breakdown on the territorial ambitions of the Confederacy had they won the Civil War, they made it clear they didnt just want to preserve slavery but expand it into the Carribean and Central America. Although these would never be more than distant dreams as they didn't even win the initial succession war and there was never time for an official policy

With regards to Spain, some members of the basque nationalist party in exile in France sought accommodation with the Germans and there were talks of establishing an independent basque republic on the grounds that they were more aryan than the rest of Spaniards. In fact a few years ago a bit of an scandal happened because some tapes were found apparently of a few German officers going through the Basque Country and investigating its culture and also the names of several high ranking basque nationalist party members was discovered. Interestingly enough, this was not the case with the catalonian nationalists, as while the left wing section sided with the republicans and were the ones in control of the region along with the anarchists during the civil war, most of the right wing which belonged for the most part to the high catalan burgoise collaborated with the nationalists during the spanish civil war, giving them important financial aid and representation in the exterior, receiving in return their land and industrial properties seized during the civil war and many of them would become important members of the francoist state (with many joining the Falange despite its centralist positions) so there really wasn't any attempt on that side to seek an agreement with the germans.
Also there’s a lot to be said about Hitlers view on Spain and the Spaniards. Like many of his views of other nations, his opinions could swing 180 depending on the mood he was in. After Franco “made” Hitler to reject him into the Axis, there was talk of still carrying out an invasion of Spain itself for taking Gibraltar, but when Hitler caught wind of it he refused on the grounds that if Napoleon failed to conquer Spain, that meant that Spaniards had a spirit of resistance and guerrilla warfare that would be a logistical and military nightmare for the German army. Other times he would call them lazy and oriental.
European Confederation”, drafted in 1943 under Foreign Minister, Ribbentrop, he wanted a European Union. Maybe not what we have today, but some type of European federation.
If I remember right, Hitler's entire plan was to just focus on the East. If Britain and France hadn't cared about Poland, then WW2 as we know it would not have happened. It would have just been more of a Nazi-Soviet war than anything else, because Hitler surprisingly cared very little for the West and just wanted his own empire out of the way from everyone elses. I suppose it helps that everything East of Moscow was completely uncontested outside of the Soviet Union, so if they had conquered them, then they would have no competition or threats (except maybe the Japanese but considering Hitler called them Honorary Aryans, I'm sure there would have been some sort of compromise)
Can you give me at least one reference to the fact that he wasn’t planning a war against the west? I am currently researching the subject for a school project.
@@harry3615 that's not true. Hitler wanted to punish the west for the embarrassment of Versailles treaty. He was always craving for France and Britain and US. It was just a matter of time before he could attack them. If he was successful on Russians he would have unlimited resources for an offensive on the west side. Hitler was not trustworthy. His goal was to control the world by conquest
I'm not talking for the guy who made the video but there's no secret that Hitler had a huge respect for Antonescu. They had meetings which Antonescu talked with Hitler against the Hungarians and how Transylvania should be given back, which Antonescu did with Mussolini earlier on but Mussolini wasn't interested.
What did Hitler saw the Romanians as? You talked about the Finns and Hungarians, then mentioned in the previous video that you will get back to them but didn't. It seems the regarded Antonescu highly but not the rest of the country? (the quote about Croats leading Romanians)
I remember seeing Hitlers quote on Romania, something about "moving Romanians somewhere east, maybe even Croatians too, to guard the marshlands". In other words, he saw both of us as Aryan enough not to kill all of us, but not Aryan enough to govern our states by ourselves.
Well of what I know there isn't any real quote about the Romanian people (positive or negative) that I could ever find about, but he did write that Romanians would crush the Hungarians so I assume that's a positive one? He didn't speak greatly about the Latins so he probably didn't have a "very" positive picture about Romanians as we being Latins but it could be an exception
Are you going to make a video on German colonial ambitions or not, because I am even more interested in nazi Germany after watching your videos and would like to see what they were planning for aftica and other continents

While what you said about the Hungary-Romania conflicts was true, its important to note that Hitler and some of his generals were impressed with the Hungarian Army at times, especially the performance of the Carpathian Group and the defence of the Árpád line. The only good thing they really said about the Romanians is that they contributed more men. The Romanians were criticized at the Seige of Odessa for using WW1 tactics. Further, Hitler distrusted the Latins, which included romanians. Antonescu was less radical than the very pro-german Iron Guard, so its possible that he would try to side with Italy in the Latin Bloc, bringing the romanian influenced Balkand with it. Hungary had no designes on the lower Balkans and had abandoned its claims on Croatia. This would make them much more cooperative ally. On the other hand, the Hungarian fascist parties were also anti-german, so they would have likely closed themselves off like romania did in the Warsaw pact. To me, the choice is such a tossup that Hitler would likely let the two duke it out and side with the winner
This comment sounds like a classic mad Hungarian only because Hitler and the Na*is wrote bad things about the Hungarians but spoke greatly about the leader Ion Antonescu and how they would crush Hungary if a war broke up after WW2. It is true that Ion Antonescu fought the Iron Guard who were Pro-Germans but you forgot to mention that Hitler supported it, and allowed Iron Guard officials and Politicians to take refuge in Germany.
Let me guess.. you're a hungarian 🤣 You need to write a whole essay full half-thruts well chosen to defend your nationalistic pride, but lowkey you know that if Germany had won it would have been in Antonescu's favore and your country probably would have been annexed.
@@InAeternumRomaMater You're the one that sounds mad. I made points for why Hitler could have preferred either one. Also why would I be mad? There's no reason for me to want my country to be a Nazi puppet. I'm just discussing historical events. @@andrasbeke3012 And weirdly, Hitler wanted to put Ion Antonescu in Command of the Stalingrad divisions. Herman Hoths 4th division (German) would have been changed with the Romanian 4th division under Constantinescu Claps and Dumitrescus 3rd Division (Romanian), and Paulus 6th division (German) would have been under the command of a Romanian Marshal. Of course this didn't happen because Stalingrad didn't fall, but Hitler still wanted the Romanians to be in control of Stalingrad who saw History's bloodiest battle. And in your comment you did try to put in a way that Hitler talked greatly about the Hungarian Carpathian division and the Árpád line and came with "how Romanians were criticised at the Siege of Oddessa" and also how they (you probably meant the Na*is) wrote the only good thing about the Romanians was how they contributed with more men, but you didn't write where you got those quotes.
I'm not sure either of them really had anything concrete. Wilson's big policy failure (other than the horrible racism) is that he was surfing on a lot of idealism and not a lot of actual sense.
@@wallachia4797 it's the natural way of things I guess, rise and fall repeatedly.
Great video! Btw, would you do a map with every axis claims on it?

Could you make a video about the same topic but with Spain instead of Germany?
Obviously he wanted to sell his art collection, duh... 😏

what map did you use?
Exactly. Even Ian Kershaw has said there is no proof/documents to show Germany was planning to go West before September 1939

Don't cope. Hitler and the Nazis had to be stopped. They exterminated "inferior" humans and caused millions of genocides.
What sources did you use to talk about Romania?
I'm not talking for the guy who made the video but there's no secret that Hitler had a huge respect for Antonescu. They had meetings which Antonescu talked with Hitler against the Hungarians and how Transylvania should be given back, which Antonescu did with Mussolini earlier on but Mussolini wasn't interested.
Amazing video
Fun fact: King Leopold I of Belgium is from the house of saxe-coburg & gotha, which makes him german.

Let me guess.. you're a hungarian 🤣
You need to write a whole essay full half-thruts well chosen to defend your nationalistic pride, but lowkey you know that if Germany had won it would have been in Antonescu's favore and your country probably would have been annexed.
@@InAeternumRomaMater You're the one that sounds mad. I made points for why Hitler could have preferred either one. He also said that "[Antonescu] is a born soldier, but his misfortune is having romanians under his command."
He didn't like either country, and pretending that he liked Romania makes no sense.
Also why would I be mad? There's no reason for me to want my country to be a Nazi puppet. I'm just discussing historical events.
Why do you like someone that basically raped your country and let nearly every neighbor take a bite out?
@@andrasbeke3012 I sound mad? I have no reason to be. And where did you get the quote from?
