    7:21 that battery and processor combo is a beast! I'm sitting at 51% with a little over 6hrs SOT. Some days it's 5hrs SOT with 50% so it varies but that's still great in my book (stock ROM, not rooted.. Yet). I don't game mostly WhatsApp, CZcams, web browsing, a few calls here and there, voice notes and then it's just your myriad of utility apps (banking, e-commerce, etc). I seldom take pictures though. The first few days it got warm from just regular use but it was obvious to me that it was just the battery breaking in and that after a few charging cycles it would get better and it has! It still gets overly warm (barely noticeable but it's there) from time to time but it does go away on its own. I've only had it with me for like 2 weeks so it will probably get better where it won't even be noticeable.

    Great video. I want to ask something related to soapy water damage to this phone. water was on it for around an hour.
    It stopped fast charging(67watts) and camera lens had fog. Rest of the phone was working fine.
    Used the phone for a day before plugging the charger. Immediately switched it off and left it drying with silica gel packets. after 12hrs back camera lens fog has gone and front camera fog has lowered but not gone.
    Do you think the motherboard will be damaged and corroded by now? or should I take it to repair shop to clean?
    After a week of drying, is the fast charging going to come back?(because it is charging slow and not stopping, I think its not dead) I remember the phone saying "external dac plugged in" during that one day of use, maybe its thinking a device is plugged instead of charger and only allowing slow power flow.
    what do you think? will I have to get the usb port replaced ?
    edit: everything is fine after drying it for 2 days but I'm continuing to dry it for a week just to be sure

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před rokem +6

      It doesn't feel cheap, but it's a metal mid frame with a plastic coated border. So the outside will act or feel more closer to plastic but if you bend it, it's strong and won't break. But if you force it say under extreme conditions, it will bend and stay bent but not break like plastic. You would have to bend it back to straighten it since it's metal but yeah that's if you really try to bend it with extreme force.

      There's no way to really tell unless you took it apart to see if any water got inside. But there is a rubber gasket around the headphone jack, so hopefully not. If you notice any moisture around the camera lens or any signs the phone is acting up, turn it off to prevent shorting. Wanted to see the topside speaker and its holes as the back vibrates a lot when played full volume. All other redmi phones had 4 speaker holes and this one had only 3 which is contributing to the poor speaker performance compared to other redmi phones.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před rokem +9

      I don't think the holes have anything to do with it, I just tried it on this one and the bottom has the sound vibrations too but that's normal since it's suppose to give a bit of bass and treble. It gives a more immersive sound. I would prefer this over dull none bass speakers which give to feedback. Now if it was the sound being muffled that would be a different story but its crisp n clear. I would say these speakers are actually better than that of previous redmi phones. Also you can go into the sound effects and adjust the settings in the phone if you don't want it to have as much bass or treble and mess with the equalizer n so forth to make it vibrate less. Hope this helps.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Thanks, I try my best to answer as much as I get a chance to. Not sure honestly. Might be conflict in software reading hardware. Most manufacturers will spend extra time testing new software, even beta testing it on select set of people who volunteer before sending it out to the public as an update to make sure things like this wont happen and even then sometimes issues arise but at least the issues are usually small and don't brick or render the phone unusable. So I am assuming they probably don't test the software as thoroughly to make sure it had no problems, before pushing it out to the phones.

      @@PBKreviews So can I escape the problem by custom roms?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Possibly, but those sometimes pose risks too if not installed correctly, they can brick the phone. In most cases it's not the motherboard failing, but when the firmware is bricked or corrupt to a certain point, it requires special programming with tools the manufacture has to fix it. So its not like the motherboard burns or anything like that. Just not user programmable when it's corrupt beyond a certain point.

      every battery usually has a rated and a typical capacity. They are made to work at a certain level which is written and should function at a minimum level as well. So basically in easier terms, its like saying it can and should work at 5K but at the very minimum it should be working at 4900. But every battery degrades over time so yep.

    I don't like the design in which the cable is being sandwich by the heatsink and the battery. that's just dangerous for a phone that you expect to heat up so much coz their target customers are gamers.
    I'm still have my Pocof1 with me working fine. (I already replaced it's battery once and replaced thermal paste) and I'm here looking for future replacement.
    I'm always looking for disassembly video's of any phone I plan to buy so I knew how easy to break them apart in case something minor happens.
