Thanks for the comment. Yes that is correct. I tested this feature tonight on the new Rafale which I can’t wait to edit in the next couple weeks.
Shame it has that terrible key and doesn’t just work from your mobile in your pocket like a Tesla- maybe this is coming?
Nice informative video thanks, the car blew me away when I saw it today. 6 year Tesla owner, tempted away for the first time….. by a Renault. I can’t believe that myself!
Tesla Model 3 has windscreen washer fluid coming out of wipers. Problem with Tesla is the auto wipers (relying on camera instead of a cheap sensor) still don’t work properly- a running joke.
Thanks for the comment. You can control certain things from an app like use the heating controls. I don’t think you can lock/unlock and start the car from an app. Maybe future versions will introduce it.
Lol the key does look big on camera but it feels really lightweight and feels like you are holding a card 😃
I didn’t know Tesla Model 3 had that issue. I really think Tesla products are really desirable. Maybe the facelift of the Tesla has fixed this issue?
Left light push button turns on biggest high beam lights on auto mode. Works very well. So when you are in a dark not good illuminated road with no upcomming traffic it will switch on high beams and will turn it off again once it sees upcoming cars.

@@DrSaahb Once upcoming traffic appears it will turn your high beams off and once they passes it will go on again.
That sounds really good. Definitely want to test this if I had the car as a long term test drive.
@@DrSaahb I have the Ranault Megane E-Tech Iconic but all the tech is exaclty the same as in the Scenic. The one issue I was strugling the most was getting internet to work because I have mobile data in the Magane but you need to thethering also via bluetooth on your smarthone to mix and have internet also on via your data on your smartphone for other functions in the car like playing music on CZcams music via Google assistance button in the car. Also sideloading APK files to install native CZcams app to watch video's while charging on the main big screen because via Vivaldi browser is less good.
I definitely need to test this when I get the opportunity to have a car as a long term test car. Is the Vivaldi app constantly buffering? Might be worth trying a different network provider for your phone too? Me and my wife are now on different networks and we find that sometimes I have a better signal or the other way round.

@@DrSaahb Thank you, we have decided to get the Scenic Espirit Alpine as it has blind spot monitoring which suits me as I'm 2 operations into right side retina detachment with enough improvement to see & here the blind spot detected. It should be fitted to all cars because 90°/° of accidents by all road vehicles are caused by this. 👍🧡
Espirit Alpine has some other great features too! I thought all models had the same safety systems. What colour did you go for?
I did do a video recently on the Megane and that has had some updates so depending on when it was built I am guessing some features have been introduced.

I thought I recognised the forecourt, and then you confirmed it by stating it's Wolverhampton Renault. My wife has purchased three Renault cars from there over the years. I'm rather interested in this new Scenic, it really does look this biz, especially the 87Kw long range.

Thanks for the video, Doc. Can't wait to take delivery of my Techno spec Scenic E-Tech at some point in the future! As I said in the previous video comments, I tested an Iconic last week and was very impressed. I thought of an issue I had which you may be able to help me with. On the test-drive I went and picked my friend up. I realised that when the driver gets into the car (or the person with the remote), the door handles open. However, when I picked my friend up, I was in the car and didn't know how to open the door handles for her to access the car. Not every person will know how to put their finger in the little square handle bit in order to enable access to the handle. Is there a way to reveal the door handles for others getting in from the comfort of the drivers' seat? I hope you understand what I'm waffling about. Unless you can press a button to have the handles sticking out, I can see me having to act like a chauffeur and get out to let passengers in! Again, good video, Doc.
Thanks for the comment. I don’t know the answer to this but I will try and ask one of the sales guys if they have a tip on how to do this. From the top of my head (a workaround) is to switch off the car, then lock it and unlock it and then the door handles will open up. The other thing is to maybe ask google assistant to open the door handles but I don’t think it will do it. Let me know if you find out before me please?
@@DrSaahb Thanks for your response. I'm unlikely to find out until I take delivery of mine. No idea how long this will be. The car I tested was only on loan for the week to Renault Liverpool and will have gone back now. I'm sure there's a simple answer and I'm just over-thinking things, but I just have visions of my 70-year-old mate scratching his head and growing roots while I try to figure it out (it takes him about 5 minutes to put his seatbelt on!).

Watched the video, Doc. However, the opening of the car when I'm not in it wouldn't be an issue (your video refers). My issue would be if I am in the driver's seat with the handles in and then I go and collect someone. The handles wouldn't automatically pop out for them...at least I hope not as they would pop out for any stranger who walks past. I'm sure there'll be a door opening/handle pop out button somewhere inside the car. At worst I assume I can just use the remote card, I guess.
Had to turn it off as the presenter had such an annoying voice
