MGM logo History Ultra
"MGM Studios Logo History" made by TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS, 10/03/2021.
Metro Pictures (1915), Goldwyn Pictures (1916) and Mayer Pictures (1918) were bought by Marcus Loew to form Metro Goldwyn Mayer in 1924; this was done to supply films for his theatre chain and a need to oversee his Hollywood operations. Some of their newer releases are currently distributed by United Artists Releasing. My next video may be "MGM Studios Logo Variations" or "Pathé Logo History (Updated)". However, the college group me and my brother Dylan are in will be back in Arts College next Tuesday, so I will not make a lot of videos then, since I have to focus on my final major project for the college course. With that said, enjoy the video! :-)
Also, this video only took four hours to make, which is interesting. My original logo history on MGM from July 2016 took me a whole day to make (possibly because I repeated footage of the same logo/variant, but I was twelve at the time). Also, like some others, I predict the logo from 2012 may stop being used this year (2021).
Since you did Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer History and MGM Home Entertainment History, Can you now please do MGM Television Logo History?

12:56 this logo is perfect in Sepia tint since I watched “The Wizard Of Oz” (1939) It’s my favorite MGM film growing up
Tanner: See?
Leo The Lion: He needs to start.
Coffee: WHAT???
Slats: Uhh...What?
The original silent Goldwyn Pictures lion looks so bored and restless, like he's thinking "What am I doing here? Does anyone have any food?" Slats is a little better, but he also gives off that vibe, as does the first sound lion with his unenthusiastic little growl. Overall, I think my favorite is Tanner, because he's the most majestic, but Jackie is the one that I feel is the most iconic. Probably because he's the lion who appears at the start of the most famous MGM movie of all time, "The Wizard of Oz."
Slats and Jackie are the same lion
@@r.a00913 No they're not. They just looked alike; I think that's why Jackie was chosen as Slats's successor.
Bert Lahr As the cowardly lion was replacing Leo in the first cut.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is my #1 most favorite movie logo ever!

34:22 that count as the 4th roar....it needs an extra roar sound fx
That Coffee lion is scary. Tanner is the most friendly.
Fun fact: Leo was the youngest at the time MGM filmed him roaring, you can tell by his much smaller mane in comparison to the others
San Diego Comic-Con International RangerWiki
Tanner's roar is used for himself, George and Leo from 1934-1982 formerly, but Leo now has his current roar since 1982 (which is actually a tiger roar)
@@jimmyjames9422 yep, that’s correct. The 1982 roar, like you said, is a tiger roar, a stereophonic one that is. Mark Mangini, the guy who created it, said "Lions don't make that kind of ferocious noises, and the logo needed to be ferocious and majestic." Pretty cool :)
Leo's current 1982 roar is also used in movies and TV shows.
There were 7 other Leos.
2:55 thats the shortest roar
He said "bruh"
24:52 Tanner is the most iconic lion of all time
His first roar really spooked me growing up. Makes me glad they watered it to the first two afterwards.
He's been in my memories since I started watching Tom And Jerry.

They kept Tanners roar.
3:22 - Taken from Wild Oranges (1924)
Am I the only one who thought the lion was going to eat them as a kid? Am I also the only one who thinks that Jackie is trying to catch a fly?
The Leo the Lion logo from 1957 to 1982 were used in both Jailhouse Rock and Viva Las Vegas. I remembered when they showed those films on TV.
Makes you wonder what the 100th anniversary logo will look like.
It's only a matter of time.

@@eblackadder3 Its home video, television and game divisions are MGM Home Entertainment, MGM Television and MGM Interactive. MGM might possibly release The Loud House 2 in theaters (alongside Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies) despite having Lola Loud (voiced by Grey Griffin) yelling at Leo (the MGM mascot) to scram.
Leo: [roaring sounds]
Lola: [yelling at Leo] SCRAM! THIS IS MY MOVIE! MOM! LEO IS ROARING AGAIN!
It's actually called MGM Home Entertainment LLC, MGM/UA Home Video is long defunct.

Not sure if it's the actual voice, but definitely a lion's roar.
Might I say, I really don’t like the MGM logo advertising the website. If I watch a movie from the 60s, I know there’s wasn’t any MGM website back then
The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer logo is a big part of my childhood because I always associate it with my favorite cartoon, Tom and Jerry!!! 🦁🦁⭕⭕ And because of The Wizard of Oz, the Rocky films, and Legally Blonde! And I honestly thought that lion was so scary as a kid, I thought he was going to jump out of the TV and eat me 😳😨😨
And does anyone remember that funny opening intro in The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course where instead of Leo the Lion in the MGM logo, there's a saltwater crocodile inside roaring and opening its massive jaws?
Don't forget the most famous spy ever, James Bond 007 and The clumsy inspector clouseau from The Pink Panther.
