Fine job gents! RIP Paul!
RIP Paul Nelson.😢 I so enjoyed your summer concerts in Michigan. Your talent was amazing, and you will be greatly missed. Prayers of comfort for your family.🙏
I came last night for one of my periodic revisits of this performance. So sad to hear the news.
I've forgotten how many times I've listened to this masterpiece ❤❤❤
This is the best vocalist to perform with this guitarist.
damn that bass is so smooth...
RIP Paul Nelson.
It's fantastic that Steve Winwood has influenced so many bands with this classic
BEST version ever of this classic! tune!!!
. Tearing it up in heaven now ! RIP Mr. Nelson
Such a great guitar performance of one of my desert island songs.
AWESOME, love the song, but everyone makes it "THERE OWN",
which is a big part of the Music and the Magic, you OWNED IT.
Excellent music!!! RIP 😭😢
singers owns it here
Oh my!! ❤️😯❤️
Outstanding rendition. This performance is the reason Fender guitars are made.
Yup Steve was in Johnny Winter’s bus with Paul at crossroads. He asked what time it was, ran out, and played this tune with EC.
No contest. Best cover of this song by anyone. Super clean arrangement. Wow.
So true Mark, just perfection ❤
@@rosaconnolly7345 BEST EVAH
I know, right!? I make a stop here at least once a month just to hear it one more time, and every time it I notice something new. It's a performance that transcends words. One of those rare pieces of music where the only real way to describe it is to just hit play and listen to it again.
Definitely a great band. Beautiful, dynamic version. Me & my siblings' band did a great 3 part harmony version of this in the 90s.
@@kerylorbsmultidimensional4214 Agreed! I would absolutely LOVE to hear a three part harmony over this song! Studied voice in college and have always had a soft spot for great harmony :)
I like bass players who keep it simple
Keeping it simple is hard
fenderstratguy thats why I love playing with this band. Great group of cats. We support each other!
Mike Echols Nice work on this.
I’m a fan of that James Jamersony sort of “1-finger sound.”.
Do you know bass player Johnny B Gayden? I really like him, too.
Simple yet hooky bass.
Great version. Everything first class and the singers voice is great.
Thank you so much!
Stumbled onto this video with no prior knowledge of this band. When I saw what they were going to attempt to cover, I said out loud “now I have to hear this”. Wow!!! The guitarist is fantastic and then when the big man opened his mouth, I said out loud again, “no fucking way”. Probably the best cover of this song I have ever heard. Outstanding!!!!
Hey man- thanks!
drummer is having some fun too.
@@getoffmycloud he always has fun!
They're playing again same place on the 25th I'll be there for sure already got the tickets and 5 other friends going... can't wait for the 3rd time
@ricoamero6400 this version always gives me a case of the weepies lol
This band is tight , that bass is so good.
Excellent well worked version
Brilliant Paul ! Thanks a lot for taking care over Johnny all those years ! All the best my friend !
Awesome guitarist!
Excellent performance
one of the very best versions of this song i have heard, great musicians, and the vocals are beyond impressive!
Not bad, Paul is a beast. Check out GE Smith's version at The Winery
This is one of the best cover of this song "Can't find my way home" my opinion for what it's worth
Man, smooth as a Swiss watch! 👍
Beautiful! You just made my day better
That means we’re doing our job! Thank you!
Wow -- these guys are beasts! Probably the best cover of this Clapton-Winwood song I have ever heard.
Ditto❗
This quartet reaching for the bleachers as they knock it out of the park, nice, thank you.
Thank you!
SUPERB!
Goosebumps, I don't think the band knows how good the song is.....
Thank you so much! Well, let’s say we had a feeling. Lol
You've got to love CZcams for posts such as this one!!! Thanks for posting.
Didn't know I could love this song more
Thank you!
Excellent cover of a classic. Great band and vocalist, too! Thanks, Paul, for your excellent playing and for helping Johnny through his last years!
Brilliant simply brilliant, greetings from Ireland 🎶🎶
Alright. Maybe I’m just having an emotional moment but daaang I just nearly cried like a baby.
One of my all time favorite songs, one of those you pull out at a campfire and blow everyone's mind if you can play and sing it halfway decent. Well good sirs, ya'll blew my mind with this rendition from pillar to post! Super tight rhythm, innovative improvisation, lovely exploration of the piece to make it your own performance. Drummer and bassist are SO pocket-perfect behind-the-beat funk together , with that "uuuhhhh!" you can't describe. Right from the get go, it's like a security blanket having a solid drummer like that, driving that beat home, but playing musically off his mates. Guitarist has some great chops and keys off and gels with the rest of the rhythm section like they are sharing a mind...shreds something to melt your face off, then takes the dynamic down as the bass hits some complementary pinch harmonics that all love but only a few understand just how amazing ...all while a brilliant soul singer BELTS it like tomorrow is his last day on earth, feeling the rhythm, the groove, jamming with his bandmates....then unleashing otherWORLDLY tones! Seriously, you guys made my night!
Wow! Thank you so much. Everything has come to a halt because of covid. Been missing this greatly. Your comment means a whole lot to me. Blessings!
@@ricoamero6400 Well, i appreciate the appreciation. And I do indeed miss it as well. But for you give thanks means the world to me as well. I've been sick for a long time, 6 years or so, and had to repeat some treatment due to covid, and just today finally reached where I was last year. But when I hear stuff like that, it reminds me of why I play, why I listen, and why stuff like this is absolutely amazing.
@@ricoamero6400 I gotta tell ya, I was feeling a little low today, and I knew exactly what I needed to hear to cheer me up. Again man, this is pure soul gold and food for the mind and heart my friend!
@@leonid4468 thank you so much! It’s about touching folks- means a lot to me.
@@ricoamero6400 I agree my friend! There's just something ethereal and almost other-worldly when you see that one person in the crowd who in that moment in time, is feeling EXACTLY what you are because of what you are doing, and (I know this will sound a bit cheezy...I'll blame it on my synaesthesia haha) you suddenly become essentially a cosmic tour guide, outside of time, connecting and moving someone you never even met before. By the way, I'd love to collaborate at some point, seeing as how easy it is to do so remotely these days. I have a particular tune with a bluesy soul feel I think your vocals would blow the roof off of (and for that matter your band could cut loose on as well...SOLID chops, every one of them). Do you do any writing? Cause I'd be interested to hear any lyrical ideas you might have as well. At any rate and at the very least, we can swap tunes and stories, right? :) I also just had a dumbass moment and noticed that this was recorded in Michigan! Not sure why I didn't notice that before, especially since I live there too haha! Who knows, maybe we could jam in person someday.
Damn!
I almost listen to this song every day and of course with a friend of mine also I told her that, THAT guitar and THAT voice is one of the best combinations of any song that I will continue to enjoy....thank you 🌌😌
Wow!!! Heaven!!!
Thank you!
When we saw you in Michigan, you made our trip👌🏽 And, you continue to improve your groove. Absolutely killing it 💥💥💥
Paul Nelson is awesome!
Whoa!!!! One of the best versions here. love this band .
THANK YOU! You guys did this sooo good! I lost a friend to Covid 2 nights ago and this helped me cry...I've had a few drinks and just reminiscing in my head.
Thank you- and I’m so sorry for your loss. We’re all trying to find our way, aren’t we?
Really Nice...already loved the song

A STUNNER.. raw great tone guitarist's economy........ nails this.....love it
I use to listen to this back in the 70s, and have listened to many groups do it justice. You guys literally knocked this one out of the park. So very talented with your own unique signature. Great job from some very talented musicians. Thank you!
Never heard of Paul Nelson Band. I was really digging the arrangement and then got chills when the vox started. Amazing! Pure Magic!
Thanks! Paul and his good friend Johnny Winter won the 2014 Grammy for best Blues album

Love this version of a one of my favorite songs. I'm going to have my kids play this song at my wake, hopefully, by that time I will have found my way home.
Badass..
I really like the blues phrasings the guitarist lays out. He plays like I whistle. Great cover.

Best cover of this tune I've seen on youtubes.
He has a good voice.
Exceptional!
These guys know what they are doing.
Listened to this many times now: awesome version, top musicians… it’s just getting better ‘n better. Nice setting too. Love it! ❤️
FRICKIN ABSOLUTELY BADASS!!!!!
Great
After 3 months, I revisited this once more. Again, as fresh, if not more revealing than the first listen. Each one of you artists blended not only audible uniqueness, but visual soul into this video. The guitarist is a blend of Clapton, and so many others that I cannot adequately or appropriately name now, but into his own unique sound, the bassist sets an awesome pace that is heart beat of this song, and the drummer is awesome to watch, animated just perfectly for this song, and the vocalist, you are the icing on the cake. Way to go!
Your sound system and recording equipment is awesome, very clean !
Thanks!
we record each band's individual inputs and do mixing and mastering in post.
Best part is the band gets a copy of the raw multitrack at the end of each show.
Don't let Tim fool ya it sounds like that sitting in the audience also... best place ever
Holy @#&$, this is so damn good! Incredible vocals, awesome guitar, and a rhythm-section that is strong. What a tremendous version of a song I have loved since first hearing it in my childhood, when it was first released. GREAT work, fellows! ❤
Fine cover of this timeless song.
Classic Blind Faith Steve Winwood, 1969. Check out the super line up for Blind Faith
Mind you
No one does it quite like Steve and Eric
Everyone else just follows in their footsteps
Luckily, ain’t nobody here trying to be them- Steve was hanging out with Paul, and Johnny Winter on Johnny’s bus. Steve took off for the stage, and played this tune with Clapton at Crossroads. You should check out the movie Johnny Winter- down and dirty. It’s free on prime. You’ll see what I’m talking about.
The difficult is to write it, of course
Thank you. This was excellent.
