  • Purpose: To maintain or slightly increase strength of
    quadriceps muscles during acute knee joint
    inflammation when the joint is otherwise held
    at rest and to avoid increasing blood pressure
    when this is a consideration
    Position: Sit with the back supported or in a supine
    position; bend one knee and straighten the
    other.
    Movement
    technique: Tighten the quadriceps of the straight leg.
    Hold 3 to 6 seconds.

    1. build to 10,20,30 seconds holds
    2. quick activation
