Sky saying PIF buying Amanda’s 6% shareholding. Their shareholding could be worth around £50m which is a nice exit figure. They’ve left the club in a very good position with all the key people in place and the makings of a top 6/4 team. All that in 3 years is quite an achievement.

@@Lifeofriley41 that’s an unusual way of looking at it - I’d say managing all of that from a relegation team in 3 years And managing to do it Despite the restrictive financial rules whilst building up the revenues and achieving champions league for a season, re-shaping the squad and a cup final is nothing short of astonishing.
1) They never actually had that big a share, and it was reduced recently anyway.
2) She has a degenerative neurological condition. It's possible she may want to do something less intensive and time consuming.
3) She has been embroiled in a legal battle with Victor Restis over money.
Lots of reasons she may have decided to do this that don't mean the sky is falling in.

Bloody hell man one of our shareholders have sold their shares, when did we become a bunch of worry beads. Not one person commenting knows exactly why and in all honesty don’t know why it matters. I want my club to win, win big and be champions how we get there is PIFs task. We have a top bunch of Directors and a top coaching team who PIF expect to deliver, let them get on with it. Obviously we will be forever grateful to Amanda and Mehrdad for being the catalysts for all of this and I wish them well HWTL!

No surprise. PIF don’t tend to partner with anyone. They may have interim agreements, but they don’t need co-investors. They’ve done a great job, but PIF will want to drive their own agenda now.

I'll miss that from her the most, showed a great side to her and what a great people manager she was.
I think we should all have known this wouldn't be long-term for Amanda... she was diagnosed with Huntingtons Disease in 2013... of which there is a prognosis of around 15 to 20 years of quality of life, before she'll no doubt need some form of care, eventually full-time care...
I'm sure her demise health wise was never planned to be in the spot light as it happens, so I'm sure both her and Mehdad will be looking at the next chapter of their lives, without the Media glare...

This isn't mental AT ALL, was always going to happen, she done the same for Man City, she don't have the funds to help run a club, yes she's done some amazing things for us since coming in, but reality is, it was time to go. what she has done for Newcastle is the same as she done for Man City. it was fully expected eventually.
She will also get involved in another takeover across europe eventually, it's what she specialises in.
Shame she is going without a send off. I bet 52,000+ people would chip in for a leaving present. We must surely do something for her from the fans to show how grateful we are to her.

Was always going to happen. It was always planned she stayed for 2 years then left, she basically just helped to broker the deal. She ended up staying an extra year than she originally planned.
Maybe it's for medical reasons? There are a lot of rumours about her health ....
I personally think this was always part of the plan - PIF would maybe have been blocked buying us if they were not around. Plan has not changed we will still be huge !!
I just hope they weren’t pushed out, coz this is certainly unexpected. If it was their decision fine I respect that, but if they were pushed out OR if there’s something that she doesn’t agree with like the direction the club is going to take. There was no statement nothing! So it’s a bit mysterious. But like I said I hope she wasn’t pushed out because we owe her a lot for rescuing our club. Thanks Amanda you’re a star

Amanda has Huntingdon's disease which is sadly incurable - perhaps her health prevents her putting her all into our affairs and she and Mehrdad are leaving becuase of this,
For me, their job responsibilities are well well done; it’s just about turning it all over back to the PIF to let them take charge again.

I think this was always the plan. Amanda and Mehrdad are some of the most important people ever to be involved with the club and they'll be loved and respected in Newcastle for a generation.
This was always going to happen. She was only ever the deal broker and it was clear from a number of structural decisions since the take over that she wasn’t seen as part of the management long term. They’ve made a fantastic contribution to the Club - especially Amanda who “got the Toon” from the minute she first came to SJP and, of course, she was responsible for bringing in Eddie. Without her we would probably be in the Championship now. She will leave a big gap, which I don’t think Eales will fill.

Amanda was diagnosed with Huntingtons disease 11 years ago, a condition that usually gives you a 15-20 year life span after diagnosis. Sadly she therefore may not have long left, so this doesn't come as much of a suprise.

She will make a profit on shares. Mitchell was wanted but multiple clubs around the world , wouldn't have taken job unless there were big plans. Too many bed wetting fans. Maybe the court litigation was damaging financially and she had to sell her shares. Nonetheless, she seems the best person to represent our club. Sad to see her go.

it's football, she put some decent people in place, its not as if shes took off and left penfold in charge. the club looks like its improved in every area, except the academy, which is pretty much the same. the womens team has improved massively so its a case of saying thank you and good luck

Newcastle dont have the infrastructure built to enter the top clubs in epl consistently, chelsea have spent the money you're talking about spending in future and are nowhere. They will still rebuild quicker than you. She spunked 80M on Tonali and got sold up the river on gambling charges. That was commercially damaging to the brand of Newcastle.
Took the risk borrowed money from Ashley knowing the value would increase over years I guess it's business, let's hope the money she borrowed last year has been paid off!!

She will always be our Queen of the North...I hope this decision was theirs based on own personal ambition and paths to follow rather then some underlying undisclosed reasoning. For me Amanda has always been the communication bridge between club and fans so even if some alternative reason in the world of business forced them to do this or heath reasons surly it would of made sense to offer a role remaining that figure head between club and fans, she was good for moral...if its health the role didn't need to be too intensive basically do as she can, the club should look after her for making things happen. If at the end of the day the reason is they feel it's time to move on then Thank You so much both if yous, remember there always be a seat at the Temple always.

Why is anyone surprised by this? She simply couldn't afford to keep pace with the level of investment the other owners are putting in. Even at 6% it would represent millions every year she is investing every year. This was probably always her plan to flip the 10% share for a big profit
