Tbh his family is hella loud and they’re gonna ask me 10000 questions and I’m too nervous to do this right off the bat. I recommended going bowling before going out for dinner to ease things a bit lmaooo

It’s sucks because I’m seeing him today and meeting his mom today. I just got my first ever peiriod so I’m bloated and she might think I am really fat.
First off, no mom would ever think that about a woman who is trying to figure out how to manage being a woman for the first time. There's a code. She'll understand. Trust.
I'm very nervous bc I'm meeting my bf parents soon, but the thing is they speak Italian, and they don't know English... I'm very anxious about the fact that i can't communicate efficiently with them
Coming from a family who speaks Spanish and I wasn't taught to be fluent growing up, figure out a few basic phrases to show your effort and be yourself. If the relationship pursues, then learn more phrases, so on and so fourth!
I can understand this "impress bf's parents" concept might exist back in 2015. But now? NO! Girl... you dont need to impress them, they need to google how to impress YOU!

Whether it's 2015, 2022, or 2034, if I'm a parent and you're coming to take my daughter's hand in marriage, or wanna have my sons as a husband, I'm definitely going to be checking to see if you're a good person or not, and my opinion will definitely have an impact on my children. Why? Because my children trust my judgement because I'm coming from a place of love. And just to be honest, never a day in my mothering life will I ever attempt to impress someone that is trying to date my child. Period. And if that's the attitude that is coming to my door step, then they can leave my house.
That's my opinion.
Why would the parents need to impress? They’re literally the key holders. Their impression to you is their son/ daughter. Obvi you were impressed enough to date the sucker 😂 now it’s your turn to prove to them your not another booty call.
In just under 3 weeks me & some friends are throwing my boyfriend a surprise birthday party. His mum, dad and brothers will all be there and I really want to make a good impression. I already know his parents are very Conservative but I have only spoken to his mother over the phone. I'm so nervous about meeting his family!!!! I don't want them to hate me☹️

I am meeting my boyfriend's mom, dad, younger sister, and younger brother on Thursday I am super nervous to meet them.

I dont really care about my bf parents bc he doesnt care about them bc they are horrible. But his grandparents are lovely and they raised him (more than his parents) and he loves them, so they are important to me. All of us speak german, but i have a really different dialect then they have, and while i switch to the "standart" german so they understand what i am saying, they dont😅 and i dont really understand what they are saying most of the time, especially since they are really old, have bad hearing and mumble in their dialect. But it seems like i still made a good impression, bc his grandmother almost "forced" me to be in family pictures and my bf told me she used to not allow his ex girlfriend in the pictures bc she thought the relationships wouldnt last(and she used to tell the girls right in their faces😶), but she thinks i am the one😊 which is like the best compliment i could get from them

So I actually knew his parents before I dated him (we are neighbors) but I’m introverted and I have never gone somewhere with his parents tomorrow and today is our 2 month anniversary and I just get nervous and I stay quiet and people take is offensive and thank you for the advice I appreciate it! Im 14 and my boy friends parents dont like me or know me and him are dateing and they streight up told him they dont want us dateing how do i get them to atleast not hate me
to at least not hate you? be respectful, polite, and don't complain about them. They will always be there... whether he chooses to stay with you or not. At the age of 14, I wouldn't take this too personal. You're both young... anything is possible.

I’m an emo alt person who’s meeting his parents at his bday party. His mom already doesn’t like me cause she’s seen me in Demonias, idk how but she has and since they’re very religious don’t like it. I’m trying to look on the bright side like “I’ve been meaning to dress with more colors anyways” but it still hurts cause I didn’t even do anything. I have to hide my septum as well. It’s gunna be middle school all over again😭😭😭
So ask yourself, “is it worth it”? When relationships get serious, it’s true that people change but it should be a desire to change “for the better”. If you feel like you have to change for others and it’s not giving you peace then it’s not gonna be good moving forward. Don’t knock the red flags when you see them waving!

I’ll be meeting my bf family in 3 days, at their Christmas get together. I’m really nervous because my bf and I have been together going on 4 years(it’ll be 4 years in 4 months) and we’ve lived together for a year. Bring it up first! “I know we had a bad breakup a couple years ago but things are different and….” If you address it head on then it leaves zero room to feel shame, fear, or awkwardness.

Be yourself, definitely introduce yourself to him (don't expect him to know who you are...even though he probably does!), have fun but don't get crazy. Best thing you can go is go with the flow. Dads are usually more easy going than moms. You totally got this!!
