I've never heard of Guyker or Vanson tuners but after getting burned on the Guykers I say pay a bit more and get something truly high quality. Love your playing on the open if the video, certainly Hendrix like but also sort of not which is cool.
My long term guitar project of an unidentified double cut Les Paul Junior I've been modding seems somewhat similar to you getting sucked into this Jet. I bought my Junior on Ebay pretty much on the weight and the look of the wood, it was natural when I bought so I could see what I was getting but I intended to paint it red and replaced all the junk parts with the best stuff I could find. Just the single P90 I put in it cost more than the guitar did. It still has some issues but I really like the feel and the sound of it. Like you mentioned about your Jet my no-name red Junior makes me want to play.

Thanks for watching and I hope you still love your no-name Junior :) My videos are a month or two in the past, so I can confirm that Vanson locking tuners are a game changer ;) I'll make a final update video, but for now all I can say is that the guitar is now totally different and totally awesome :)

@nathanchampionmusic. Nice!!! The Vansons are fairly low cost tuners right? Good to hear they are solid... so much junk out there it can be often be difficult to sort through it all and get something quality without putting out a lot of cash.
Yeah still loving my no-name red. It's been about seven years since I got it together. Replaced the tuners which were garbage (fake Grovers) with real Klusons and even sunk nice big (almost too big) U.S.A bridge studs in, which nearly came out the back of the body as it is a bit thinner than even a real Gibson Junior, I guess I bought long studs meant for a Standard or Custom. Fought with the tuning for a long time but finally got the nut sorted out after having a couple of repair shops obviously not getting it right. It's a journey but we learn some stuff.
