They need to redo this video. The biggest factors are cost and ease to drive and maintain. The only car that made sense is the hrv.

1. Is it supposed to help or hurt their sales? 2. Is it a list of cars for seniors to drive or be chauffeured in? If it's a car for seniors to drive, I can't imagine why it's a good idea for them to drive a 3-row SUV, when their children most likely have formed their own families.

@YourMom-vl2sp According to who? They are consistently on the high end of reliability metrics. Car and driver, consumer reliability, etc.
Rank high end of reliability? according to what source? ConsumerReports ranks Buick 12th in reliability and Buick has zero cars with any IIHS safety award.
Interesting choices. My soon-to-be-retired friends are looking more towards subcompacts, such as the Fiat 500e and road legal golf carts.😂
Oh Brian...only 1 of these vehicles I would even consider. The Ioniq 5 but the 2025 redux. I'm 57. technically a senior, and was leaning towards a 2025 Mini Countryman JCW. It's only me. I don't have kids or grandkids. Um, unless you want to come and we can try to make some....Anyway, I don't need a big vehicle. I'd even consider a 2025 Tacoma. 2024 Sonata or Kona.
I can’t make sense of this list either. The Forrester has better visibility, is easier to drive, and is mechanically a safer bet than the Ascent. The Toyota Corolla Hybrid Wagon is also a glaring omission.

Chevy Trax didn't make the seniors list? It's roomy, has a high hip point for seating. And a usable cargo hold.... and it's a stunning value. 😮

There was a Subaru in there. A popular choice in the domestic brands is the Ford Escape. Good height for getting in and out, decent cargo space, and crawling with driver aids. As a 60-something, I see my contemporaries in Rav4s, CRVs, Escapes, and Kia/Hyundai. I personally drive an X3, but I do get complaints it’s hard to get in and out of, though I do fine myself. If I were doing a lot of old-people hauling, I’d actually go with a Pacifica in one of their luxury trims.
there is a reason for that. i mean in general u can count on a toyota and honda to last longer than an American made car....

Ingress egress is easier with sedans
Totally disagree. I have major back problems, and my wife has a 2024 HR-V, which is MUCH easier than any sedan for me to ingress and egress.

this was the worst list I've ever seen. there's no logic to any of the choices. how many seniors are really buying low sedans like honda accord or three row suvs and vans? the hrv doesn't even have a power liftgate which should be mandatory to make this list.
Seniors actually like minivans for their easy driving, usefulness at the gardening center, and also to take out fellow empty nesters. But I can’t defend most of the other pick.
Stereotype much? Maybe this segment should be titled Best New Cars for People with Limited Mobility, or for whom ease of ingress/egress is paramount. This senior drives a '24 Mustang EcoBoost--0-60 in 5 sec. for around $30K.

Why would a senior want a sedan? No way, rather sit up higher. Don’t buy Hyundai/Kia they have very complicated technology. The Sienna is huge and difficult to park. And the 2024 MDX? Ah they updated the screen to touch in 2025. This list is silly, the best option is the Ascent if you can tolerate a noisy turbo engine!

3. Horse & Buggy
4. Heelys
5. Rolling down hill
If seniors are driving the large and complicated to operate cars on this list (aside from the HR-V), I'd rather take public transportation!
There is no such thing as for seniors, all of these cars are for people of all ages, your list doesn’t make sense. Who says truck are only for men, who says minivan are only for womens, I do not care all of these bullshits. Just don’t associate cars with age or gender.
