Wow 900 different species & they all sound unique, makes sounds with their wings actually makes sense. Can't fly I didn't know & as for chirping more when it's hot is pretty cool ( can see why farmers go by them for the temperature outside) . So it's a mating call after all huh, how very interesting I must say. Still don't know about eating them though. Yeppers big business in crickets that's a fact. One thing I'm glad about living in Alaska we don't have crickets outside to keep us awake.
No, in fact we don't think Westerners are convinced about eating insects. While they may not taste bad, we (generally) find it very disgusting.
In general, insects are not very welcome in Alaska given the temperatures, rigth?
