- Chunibhai Patel (19.6.1903-19.8.1992) was a Gujarati sadhak who was renamed ‘Dyuman’ (“the luminous one”) by Sri Aurobindo on 24 November 1928.
He met the Mother for the first time in 1927. Her remark to Sri Aurobindo was, “He will go very far.”
The Mother accepted him as Her close attendant - a faithful, dependable worker.

On the occasion of Dyumanji's Birthday thanks for making this beautifull video in his memory.
Though i had wished and commented on the 19th june i wish to add a few more lines for Dyuman-ji.
One day a boy of 11 realizes that he is meant for a higher life.He aspires and reaches pondicherry to be at the feet of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo.
I learnt that The Mother accepted him as her close attendant because he was a faithful and a dependable worker.
He served The Mother lunch dinner & breakfast he took care of all her needs day and night.
I believe he helped The Mother to reorganise the material side of the Ashram because it would have collapsed long ago under the weight of the management.
Sri Aurobindo called him 'The luminous one'.He praised him for his spirit of economy during financial crises of the Ashram.
The Mother made him receive the blessings of Ganesha the God of prsperity and Laxmi the Godess of prosperity.
He planted the 'Service Tree' with help of his friends at the'Samadhi place forming an umbrella. Cleaning Sri Aurobindo' room for 5 years with great devotion.Managed the granary dept of the 'Dining hall'.
His dream was to be self sufficient in food production and surplus supply , and to grow grains cereals , organic fruits & vegetables abundantly so that there should not be any shortage off food to the Ashram as well as Auroville.
I was fortunate enough to receive his blessings during the August darshan in 1992 a few hrs before his passing away. More than 7-8 thousand people received his blessings on that day.
