    No need to remove the steering wheel, remove all the plastics, disconnect the 4 connectors on the steering column. Make sure the steering is in a position to get the pinch bolt out on the shaft, then remove the 2 13mm bolts holding the steering column on. Then pull the whole steering column off. You'll now be exposed to the motor you need to remove. Much easier this was

      Hi if you wath carefully from beginning I show how to do it. Theres two holes in the back side of the steering wheel. You can use a thin allen key or screwdriver to push into both holes which releases the cover. I do show this in the video near the beginning. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    Hi mate I've got an 07 punto and sometimes I turn engine on and the battery light comes and there's no power steering, then I'll turn the engine off and on again and the battery light will go off and power steering will work fine. Any ideas what this could be?

    • @1NELIFE
      @1NELIFE  Před 5 lety

      Hi Pal thanks for the message,. Sounds like wiring or a faulty alternator and/ or battery. I would try a volt test on the battery should hover around 12.5 Volt, and test alternator should be a constant 14 volts i think, double check that If there both fine and Problem still there could be a bad connection somewhere. I hope this helps a bit mate, let us know how you get on. cheers

    Hi, what's the best way to change indicator stalk on punto 08, thanks

    • @1NELIFE
      @1NELIFE  Před 4 lety

      Hey, you have to take the plastics off around the steering colum first, the stalk is on a little box mounted to the steering colum itself, unholy that and disconnect any wires going to it, shouldn't be too hard, I am bringing another fiat grande to the Channel soon so will do a video on it too. Hope this helps.

      Thanks for your comment! No you don't have to reprogram, just fit the part and if all wires are connected and fuse working it should work. hope this helps. cheers.

    Hi mate great tutorial!
    my issue is with my punto 2008. The power steering has failed twice but resets once I turn the engine on and off again. The garage said it's the power steering motor that needs replacing, but they quoted me nearly £400 to fix it. what year is your car in this video? do you know if it'll be the same method for my car, because if it is I might do it myself.

    • @1NELIFE
      @1NELIFE  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi thanks for your comment! That car is a 2007 and is the same setup, it’s a fairly simple on paper just a fiddly time consuming job, get a reconditioned power steering pump should cost around £120, give yourself a weekend to do it, save a good few quid! Hope this helps. Cheers.

      Cheers for the reply! Do you have any recommendations of where to get a motor? and When I got in contact with a seller, they said I'd need a model code of the motor currently in the car. Any idea how to get this, and where to buy one from?

    How did you remove the airbag / horn with the allen keys? I have been trying to push it out but to no avail

    • @1NELIFE
      @1NELIFE  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi mate thanks for the comment, right you need to get them in the tiny holes on each side of the steering wheel, as you push them in you will feel it catch something, its just a case of messing about abit until they click in, and even when they click its still quite hard to pull out the airbag section it was quite tight for me, took me about half hour of messing about with mate, so get two appropriate sized allen keys in each hole and play about with them untill you feel it push in a bit more, then tug at the airbag bit it will come lose, bit of patience and trial and error you will do it mate. hope this helps.cheers.

    Quick question. On my Grande Punto when I turn the wheel while moving on very low speed, I can hear a buzz like vibration from behind the steering wheel, like the power steering motor is struggling. Should I change that motor? Cheers

    • @1NELIFE

      @stevew6141 Před 3 lety

      Sounds like the serpentine belt is slipping or worn, possibly one of the pulleys or idle tensioner, check this first as this drives the power steering a/c and alternator which would explain the problems
