Hey Richard. Thanks for sharing as usual. I'm from the Caribbean, Trinidad🇹🇹. My dragonfruit started budding way early this year from late January and wasn't expecting such early budding. As such, I didn't get to prune before budding. Is it ohk to prune the tree while it is budding/flowering/fruiting?

For the citrus tree, you can cut the whole tree down to a large stump and graft another variety with scions directly attached to the wood/cambium. There are multiple videos on this topic.

Richard, for your orange, you can try putting 2 cups of brown sugar close to the roots. I have 2 sour orange trees like you have. I dig a hole very close to the tree enough to contain 2 cups of brown sugar. I then soak the brown sugar with water. I let the water drain and soak the sugar again. You can do this 2-3 times or until you don’t see the sugar. I have done this 2 years in a row, and I have been getting sweeter oranges. Give it a try and good luck! Thanks for your video, I have learned very important method to produce more fruits for my dragon fruits.

If you don't like the citrus, you could graft something you like better on it. If it's just too sour to eat and you're looking for ideas of how to use it, just use it like you would a lemon. Drizzle it over fish, use it in a vinegaret, make marmalade, lemon(sumo)bars, meringue pie.

Hi Richard. Your yard is looking awesome! Can’t wait to see how it will look this year with all the flowers and fruits. I’m just a little north of you in Sacramento. Last fall I picked up 4 new varieties. Got them fully rooted, have 4 to a 30 gallon pot and top dresses with chicken manure about weeks ago. I haven’t had any new growth on them yet. Any tips on getting them out of a stagnant stage and to start growing? I haven’t experienced this with my other dragon fruit plants and not sure what I can do other then giving them more time. Any suggestions?

About your citrus. It looks like your rootstock has taken over. Rootstocks are usually sour orange, which is why your fruits are so sour. Go ahead and cut off all the branches stemming from the trunk below the point where the graft is. The trunk should be visible.
