What's the point of actually playing DCS if you don't fly a full fidelity aircraft and control all the systems? You're basically playing War Thunder
@@vz6235 no not really in mean full clickable is amazing but we dont have a clickable f-15c or su-27
@vz6235 honestly it's no different. Yeah you don't have to click a million buttons to bring up certain systems, but the functionality is still basically the same. You're switching from one mode to the next.

I mean, I can already observe via this video that the textures are improved for the jets, especially externally
@@theolduniverse I did notice a small difference in the overall texture. They fixed the grayish washed out texturing of the cockpit. For instance, when you open the Canopy, there is a red Caution plate in the back lid of the canopy base, behind the seat. Before the update, you couldn't see the red AT ALL, the whole canopy frame was entirely grayed out, as well as the consoles and dashboard of the upfront console. Now we can see these textures much more faithful to their actual colors.
Unfortunately, though, the 3D mesh itself hasn't changed at all. The Stick is still missing a HUGE CHUNK of it's back part - or is that the front part? 🤔 - (where the trigger is supposed to be), the Throttle is also missing a lot of details, and the overall shape and size of the throttle grip is wrong, the Flaps Switch is STILL missing (it's supposed to be by the posterior-left side of the throttle base, next to the "Flaps Up Dn" label), there's still no throttle levers friction brushpads, like the F-15E has.
I also noticed, by examining the cockpit model in the DCS Model Viewer, they added a Normal Map texture for the Left and Right Consoles, but it seems the normal map is wrong, oriented in the opposite direction, (the normal map texture should be mostly blue colors, since the B channel is mapped to the Z/Normal coordinates of the faces of the 3D mesh, but the ones present here are mostly yellow, which means the B channel has a value lower than 0.5, which produces a negative/downwards Z coordinate) as if the 3D mesh is oriented towards inside of themselves.
thanks ED for not forgetting about FC3. I enjoy them also as the FF Modules. They are perfect for me after a long day of work. Just to have quick fun. If you make some new flyable FC 3 Planes like Su-34 or MiG-25/31 you will never see me in the daylight again 😆
maybe an f111 or some sort of us fighter bomber too.
Su-34 and Mig-31 would be beyond awesome, but they are active yet, even the old version still being analogic would give important points about these aircrafts that the manufacture want to keep it for the pilots yet...
in future they will be here, mainly Mig-31 that is one of most loved aircraft in entire world

@@kzrlgo I beg to differ, FC 3 is the necessary stepping stone for *anybody who's eyeing DCS but feels intimidated by the complexity of FF modules.* Besides, if you want to get going and engage the opposing forces without having to start up for like 10 minutes or so it's the obvious choice. I do fly FC 3 assets quite a lot and didn't regret a second of it. It's a welcome upgrade. Long overdue by the way. 🎉🎉🎉
Yeah everybody starts on the Frogfoot then goes to FC3 then full fidelity. I always forget how important Flaming Cliffs 3 is.
Anything that helps new plays play and brings players/business is great for DCS this mentality is very closed minded. @@kzrlgo
Su25 and Su25T need upgrade. I have a lot of DLC but still love this planes. This planes need more love!
SU-34 at 1:23 would be a nice fc3 addition.

awesome news. honestly i would love a flaming cliffs 4, 4 or so aircraft on opposing sides for an era, WW2, Korea, Vietnam etc. i grreatly enjoy DCS and play mostly MP and the biggest negative i can think of when comparing DCS to other sims is just the lack of theater specific aircraft to fight with. love all the full fidelity stuff but in my opinion and a few others i know, the lack of competitive theater specific aircraft takes more away from the game then the barrage of switiches and systems that we need to operate. anyway awesome effort and look forward to seeing this game continue to grow.

I started playing a few weeks ago and i must Say that FC3 is a great way to get into DCS.
Absolutly love flying the Su-27 and F-15.
And now a new Update. What a treat!
Well deserved update for amazing planes, now bring on FC4 Bombers :D
This was a really nice surprise. The FC3 planes are some of the most enjoyable to jump into. It's nice to have a slightly less mentally intense session and the Su25 is such a cool jet. Definitely noticed the changes on the A10A exterior and interior. The others are a bit harder to see but they do absolutely look more in line with the FF modules across the board. I have a feeling I'll be in some FC3 jets much more often than prior to the update.
I just took a screenshot of the F15C in VR...and looked at the exterior textures. Holy junk, guys. This is night and day. I wish there was a place to post them in a comment here to show the drastic improvement. Seriously amazing work, ED.

Flaming Cliffs-the wieldy module in the game and the module most likely to encourage people to try everything. Truly "the backbone of the game", as it retains the most consistent legacy airplanes of the engine and the broadest representation of fixed-wing airplane operations on the most affordable package. This is the module that brings people into DCS and makes them willing to bite the 80 usd for a full fidelity module and really DCS would be served well having more airplanes like it. Sim-lite packages of minority interest airplanes like the Su-17/24 or Bf110 all of which would go a long to rounding out the battlefields the game attempts to represent.
Count me as one more vote for more modules and airplanes like Flaming Cliffs. Not everything needs to be full fidelity.

On inspection it’s a noticeable upgrade, especially in the detail of the dials and switches which look much better. The metal panelling and canopy rails of the cockpit interiors of these updated planes, still looks like painted cardboard in VR, but that said however I’ll take a free upgrade of any kind in a spirit of gratitude. So thanks ED and it’s good to see you supporting your older products 👏👏

Jesus it's a year younger than me and it's still getting updates?? We live in a society where games die and get abandoned within around 3 years so this is amazing to see, and makes me an even bigger fan of DCS
these are the updates I LOVE TO SEE. The QOL in game is a huge deal when it comes to simulation. Please keep these coming. Excited for the bomb blast radius, better ground vehicle sounds etc.

The f5 is in desperate need of an update! I agree! Would like to get an f20 tigershark some how but thats a dream I may never see.
the F20 never saw saw service so it's highly unlikely. I think only one was built .@@EGLately
@@cyborgbadger1015 There's only about 20 KA-50s ever made, and the upcoming J-8 Peace Pearl from Deka was never produced outside of one prototype. It could be possible to get the F20 of documentation exists
@@ThePossumDenYT Deka can do what they want, I guess. Ka-50s is still an interesting module, and a ground base for the helos that came after it. Now, the F20 wa a dead end, no matter what anybody thinks should have happened, it didn't, and the F20 served no purpose.

Notice that the MiG-29 wasn’t included because it’s getting its own full fidelity module. That makes me wonder, what’s the plan for the FC3 Fulcrum when the full fidelity version gets released?
The A-10A got a visual and flight model upgrade when A-10C 2 was released.

YES! This is amazing! This will do so much more to bring the community together IMO. Personally i don't use any FC3 planes because i find it unimersive after flying a full fidelity aircraft, not anymore! Now i might just take the A-10 out on ECW.
