It would be no debate if Gerrard had a decent Liverpool team around his consistently. I think the debate is really between Lampard and Gerrard but for me Gerrard carried Liverpool for well over 10 years keeping them relevant and winning a champions league.
If Gerrard had the level of player around him that the other teams did, he would have been even better. He could play in any position and be the best player on the pitch. When torres and alonso were in the team and he had players with him who were clever and could play, his game elevated. Lampard is second, and scholes 3rd.
I’m always 1. Gerrard, 2. Lamps, 3. Scholes- purely because the first 2 suited England more, Scholes number 1 in Europe. But yeah what you said about Gerrard not joining Chelsea cost the country more than we know😢
Lampard was simply the best. The stats speak for itself, I find it disgusting when people say he was in a billionaire's club or that he was surrounded by good quality players; whose fault was it? Lampard?
Yeah personally I find the narratives against Lampard to be the worst of the three. He's so disrespected. I wouldn't say 100% he's the best, I think all three are fair. I also think stats are only a small part of the conversation (Scholes for example wasn't in the team to score goals or assist). But you make a good point, it's not his fault - Gareth
Scholes is my favourite, but you're frankly delusional if you think Gerrard wasn't the best of the three. Range of passing, little thru balls or 40 yarders, 50/50's, courage, strength, sprints, tackling, long range shots, headers, penalties, turning up in big moments, whatever it was, whatever is necessary on a football pitch, Gerrard was elite at.
Scholes controlled matches, Scholes is technically better than Gerrard. Scholes won countless premier league titles whereas Gerrard won zero. Not saying Gerrard wasnt a very good footballer because he was.
@slyder35 Im not delusional. How many Premier League titles did Manchester United win with Paul Scholes at the heart of central midfield and how many Prem titles did Liverpoolwin with Gerrard? Scholes would have got into the Barca midfield in 2011 if Xavi or Iniesta were injured, Gerrard wouldnt. Scholes controlled the midfield at his own pace, Scholes was more press resistant than Gerrard. Gerrard was a quality player but Scholes was better.
Gerrard is an incredible complete player. He is a great player. He played different positions, I think Frank positioning gave him access to score more goals and he was surrounded by top players at Chelsea.
Toby debunked this argument in the video. Lampard mostly played the same position as Gerrard, he wasn't a #10 for most of his career. Lampard's intelligent positioning and elite finishing ability is how he scored so many goals. I was in awe and jealous watching Lamps (Arsenal fan). Just think that's a massive disservice to Lampard... equally Gerrard had the toughest situation to play in, for sure. But I think it's unfair to dismiss Lampard's freakish achievements in that way, respectfully - Gareth.
Never heard so much pointless nonsense in my life!! Scholes:- slow, couldn't tackle and could only play in one position. Lampard:- surrounded by a billion pounds worth of team mates, on occasion Lazy. Gerrard:- An athlete, two footed, could play in more than one position and much more of a motivator than the other two! The majority of impartial observers lean towards Gerrard! Wake up boys!!!
This sounds like you have a very strong bias 😅 Discrediting two elite players in support of the one you clearly favour... The point of this video was for three biased fans to make their case to me (an unbiased fan in this debate with no opinion on it). They are supposed to be trying to convince me, hence they argue for their player - Gareth
@@WarraFooty I have no bias, I support Preston North End. I, like the boys in the video, just gave my opinion. P.S and F.L were obviously very good players, different players and I wasn’t trying to discredit them or their achievements but as I understand it, the question was who was the best and for me it is/was Gerrard. I’ll re watch your output and if necessary, amend my comment.
Gerrard #1 all day.
I think it’s a dumb debate when they’re all retired and irrelevant. But I would choose Gerrard. Arsenal fan.

Gerrard in a good team would’be been up there with top 3 mids OAT but he wanted to stay Scouse unfortunately
@@jackchatno fortunately 😂
What’s wrong with you. Loyalty is worth more than anything

Scholes is better than both of them.
Scholes was a better footballer than Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard. Gerrard was also a better footballer than Lampard.

Scholes and Lampard played in better teams , would Lampard anx Scholes had same impact at Liverpool..no chance ?
