Looks like a nice unit. Just what I need for reading myself to sleep in the tent when camping. I’m probably going to order one. I’ve always been a Fenix fan, but I like this light.
Great Company that produces some great lamps, I went with the Black Diamond Storm for my Duck Blind Bag, mainly due to lumens and its IPX 7 rating, it hasn't let me down yet
My Black Diamond light arrived a few days ago. Tried reading in bed without the lights. Works slick. I like the fact that you can adjust how the light points. Straight ahead or 4 different positions pointing down from straight ahead. Only thing is, every time I get the red lights to come on, it takes some fiddling to figure out how to get the white light back, and I can never remember what I did. Going to have to watch your video again.
loved the review awesome light been looking at it for a while since like 2009 when it was featured in on of my magazines....thanks for the review awesome info and demo
Unfortunate the large amount of batteries it takes..but I think the burn times would make it about equal to other lights with better battery options as far as efficiency goes. Good review man!
I had one but I hate the hinge ,it makes it bottom heavy and slapped your head when you when running a tad.I much prefer the petzel pivot as it does not put the unit down
I don't see a tab anywhere to open this sob ... I used mine years ago, took it out recently and I can't figure it out. You experts move so quickly when showing how to open it ... I can't follow.

Headlamps, probably one of the most useful things when your traveling at night

Thanks for the review. I forgot how to change the battery's in it until this video. I got the same light they are for backpacking.
Good review, helped me make my choice a lot easier. I'm happy with my black diamond spot.
Nice review man! You did not mention it so to be sure you know : if the red light is burning and you press the button 3 times you have a red strobe.
Love the camo pattern. Haven't seen this one at local stores near me...
Black diamond makes good combing gear

Are Silva and Petzl big in the US, because here in the UK they are the go to names for quality and performance for head torches.
wish it was water proof and would make it a all around decent light
be nice if they would, maybe one day
you know the run time is until the light goes completely out. it wont be 90 lumens for 50 hrs..
I've always wondered, are you prior army or navy?
There is no way to ge constant 90 lumens output out of 3 AAA batteries for more than two hours. It is just physics.
Maybe you can put a cheap smartphone screen protector on it?
