NYC 6AM Snow Walk | Bombogenesis Storm Kenan in Queens

- A walk through the peak of Winter Storm Kenan, the first major Nor'Easter/Blizzard of 2022. This video was recorded around 6:00AM and I travel through Astoria & Long Island City, Queens. This storm dropped 5-8 inches of snow in NYC. I start from 30th Avenue, turn onto Steinway Street, and then on Northern Boulevard, where the wind gusts reached up to 45MPH. My camera also struggled with the cold and wind, and parts of the footage I had to stabilize in post-production.

Beautiful. The way the snow picks up, helps soften and scatter all light. And what sounds still remain get muffled. Except for the wind. You almost get that small town feeling in the big city when it's like this. Good feeling to step into a warm home or restaurant after a walk like this too.
I know, the snow and wind really picked up throughout this walk! I couldn't believe some of the wind gusts that even caused my camera to shake.

What an incredible difference from yesterday morning and this walk here, the contrast is remarkable, and I have to admit when you got to 34th at the 4:32 mark in the video and I seen the ice cream shop my bones went instantly cold haha, thank you for another wonderful portrayal of New York during this storm.

Your doing this has renewed my desire to visit NYC and tour through the same parts that you did in your videos (just as your visiting the Pacific Mall here in Toronto gave me the impetus to finally visit in in early October of last year. Keep on keeping on in Miami in 2023.

Thank you for this wonderful video, it brought back many memories of my old stomping grounds in Astoria Queens (Greek Town). Usually I would be at Avenue cafe or The Grand sitting in the outdoor patio enjoying a nice frappé coffee or a ice cold cocktail with friends and family... So many good memories of NYC can't wait to be back...
