- This is a bonus video for the series "Building A House Start To Finish" filmed during week 19 of the series. You will get a sneak tour of the real time progress in the home, as well as a fun interview of the homeowners thoughts on having her home built in such a public way! Then we switch and she gets to ask me (ERIK) some questions of her own.

She's seems like a great customer to work for.
Loved the southern accent and positive vibes on the process. If the owners are cool with it, please do this again for your other projects.
Yes
The perfect owner-builder combi, clearly win win all the way.
I TOTALLY appreciate Tina's attitude about letting things go that won't matter later. 💗
Wasn’t expecting this angle of content. Very cool.
This Made me smile and jump up and down when I saw the notification that Perkins builder brothers posted a new vid!
Man I was waiting impatiently
That was really cool of the home owner to get involved.
great concept for a bonus video.
Your "broadcasting" instincts (subject, delivery, substance...) are amazing.
Your entire team should be proud of the work being accomished.
Build locally, entertain globally.
With the country and the world in such a liminal state this year, your content is giving lots of us something to smile about.
Be well, and thank you deeply for sharing.
I designed and built my own home. I know what she is referring to and would hire you and your crew anytime, you are wonderful builders.
As a younger and less experienced builder, this video was great to see. It’s interesting to see how custom home builders work compared to production built homes. Keep the videos coming!
How did you get your home owner let you interview them? My home owners only want me for my laboring skills 😭. Great interview!
Ha ha! She is super cool and actually a journalist so she is all about it!
Perkins Builder Brothers She seemed very cool and down to earth. Having a journalist as a customer would make asking them a little easier. Nice job 👍
Perkins Builder Brothers. Hoping more good things to come for you and your crew.
It's not just about the customer. You can be difficult or easy to work with as well. Contractors aren't exactly the most customer service oriented people
Here's a great question for the homeowner. "Did I have to pay for that $700 worth of floor warmer that you had to throw away?" JUST KIDDING! Y'all do great work and it's a pleasure to watch it.
I was thinking the same thing... I think it was added on to the total cost... but the builder will make it up in other ways... like doing some extra work, special add-ons from scraps they have in their warehouse inventory.... something...
Another really cool idea and video! You guys are really nailing it with you build crew and videos! Really inspirational for myself and I’m sure lots of others!
Hi Eric, I've loved this video series. You have a fantastic team and the job is superb. Thank you for the entertainment!
With regards from the UK
All the builds are beautiful ... this one is up there as a favorite! Can't believe how time flys by ... this is almost year and a half ago
Around 7:20 Erik describes hiring for personality and training for skill. Having a great disposition and being a friend to everyone are hard lessons to learn. My example I learned from was reading about Will Rogers who was an entertainer back in the 1910s, '20s and '30s who declared "I never met a man I didn't like." This is a great bunch of people. They exemplify our best in society.
I like her “Tennessee slang sound”. That blew my mind
Just discovered your channel. Really fun to watch and because you finish a project every video its very satisfying! Amazing!
This was a nice cross interview, one of a kind I’d say. Thanks and looking forward for more awesome content Perkins brothers. Can’t wait.
These bonus vids are great ... that door came out glorious
Having it all filmed would put my mind at ease studio much more! There's no cutting corners of doing a bad job when it's on video.
Awesome interview and an admirable lady to build for. 👌 All the best to you all from NYC🗽😷🇺🇸 THANKS for the KNOWLEDGE😇
Tina is AMAZING !!!! (Looks, attitude, trust, vision, adventurous....everything)
Watched all the videos in a row ! Amazing content, learned a lot, and get inspired . I’m going to build my cabin in Utah this summer I wish you guys were building all over the country ! Can’t wait for new videos of a build 👍
The stairs look awesome! Honestly can't wait for the next episode.
What an absolute joy it was to watch this build! Love The Crew, The Project, The Owner. Obviously I subscribed and hope and pray for another project like this one. Binged this thing in 2 days!
Signed, 32 year licensed plumbing contractor and occasional spec home builder.
P.S., I have to mention how pleased I was to witness your attention to detail and the pride you take in your craft.
Continued success in the future!
The soft close on the barn door, smooth operator!
You bros are such amazing people and therefore, builders too. I hope to get my business to your standards and success. Thanks for sharing so much of your expertise!
Love this channel! Better than any home improvement show on TV.
Cool!!! Great builders, great client, what more could you ask for?
Tina, your attitude is really refreshing :) Insightful and lots of emotional intelligence. Would love to see more video's with the homeowner and their thoughts.
Looking forward to the final walk through.
Really good video. She seems like such a cool lady. Music, editing, etc. Thumbs up
And this is the first video I watched on Perkins Builder Brothers, and I've been hooked ever since, I don't regret a thing 👍👍
What a great interview.
A Cool, Unexpected and different video. You guys are great... been watching your channel about six months now and I find it both entertaining - and educational. My 'claim to fame,' 40 years ago I built a 1200 square foot shop and guest house (two, 20x30 garage packages back-to-back, and then I modified it from there). I had the slab poured after doing the rough-in plumbing, and from that point forward, did EVERYTHING myself.
You made a recent video about Building Inspectors. I took the tactic on that project... you're the pro and I'm the amateur... "Please help me do it right the first time." The guy was really cool - and helpful - and I passed Every inspection on the first try. (I like to think even Mike Holmes would have been proud of me).
My point in all this, I've really enjoyed the shows and look forward to every video. Keep up the Good Work! Carl in Sparks, NV....
Great video, even better with outside opinions and input into the build process
that was some really good advice by Tina because just tonight we were told we have to cut our plans to fit the budget and our plans is what we want so we will see how the cuts work and do we just fold and forget it if we cant get what we want.
Interesting insight. Thank you very much 👍
Ray always on the job!!
Great build series!!
Wonderful house and owner.
Comment about the crew My thought is I agree with you about having fun on the job. The other thing is you have to trust the other members of the team to keep each other safe, one wrong move could be terrible or deadly for example lifting that wall of windows that's far from being a light wall to lift. Having a homeowner that's easy to work with makes the building process go smoother.
Good location for sure!
Very nice.. Design.... 👍👍👍👍
Awesome video man she is so sweet also
Nice job Boys! She loves it !
Omg she is literally the dream customer
That light is legit!!!
Great idea for a video!
That's one way to do it, yall hit the jackpot with her,
It's nice for her to see it all on CZcams, because she knows you will be doing your best work, and not trying to cheat her in any way.. NOT that you would, but some contractors do!
Put some shellac on those knots and they won't bleed through the paint.
Also, great episode!
I 100% understand about the stress over the wall of windows. One of my high school peers died in a construction accident when a wall fell on him.
Very cool house build!
I like this episode 👍
"How important is it to have a crew that gets along?" Erik: "Well, other than Jason... " :-)
Couldn't ask for a better relationship between builder and owner.
Eric, Thank you for the videos. In this one your talked about the wall of windows. I too was a builder and faced some of the same things as we are in the middle of a build. One question I asked myself is with all those windows two floors high, how does the wall react in the wind. Not a lot of framing to hold that together. I built in Florida with hurricane winds periodically. Sometimes I built a bolster on the inside of the wall for extra strength.
Does that ever cross your mind. Thanks for the great videos. John in Missouri Valley Iowa.
I get along great with my crew! Granted, I work by myself.....
I like this sneaky sneak peak
Ive been binge watching your channel.... this one, the restoration house, and the newest mountain cabin. My question is in regards to this house- I love the paint/stain colors on the exterior of this house. Would you share the colors pls?
Great video
Super cool stuff
I worked as a Plumber for 35 years , A blue print is just an idea . Things move and evolve on a daily basis .
thanks
Great client to work for
1:08 Very nice barn door.
Great video jajaja i love that the owner is very nice and just down to earth thx for the video
Nice video
I bought your plans on this, what is the snow load there for the roof? Psf?
Where are you guys located?? I live in Texas, you guys do awesome work!
North Carolina!
👍
My late old Daddy always said..."If it ain't fun, you ain't doin it right. "
She’s beautiful.
What hammer do you use
I saw that same light at ikea.
I own the bigger version of that one.
Damn she looks so young 😍
OCD me: Either the camera is tilted, or the house is tilted.
I think it's the balance of the background.
Hope it was the camera :-)
Maybe your head is crooked
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers Oh god, you don't know either? 😳
How did I miss that
Can we get a podcast style with your wife's and parents about you guys personalities and skills?
Did you get that tile at Home depot for the shower? Looks like the same tile I got from there.
I did!
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers sweet!
How much was the build!?
🍻🍻👍
Hey my house is on CZcams lol but I didn’t record it
Hate standing big walls.
...i feel like any question you gave here have some life lessons answers in it :p
Nice barn door love the stripe angle design ray is too fat for 145 lol
I asked this on another video of this house build and then this video came up, is Tina of Korean descent?
Sounds like you weren't using the audio from her mic pack. Did it get recorded?
You are correct! They were turned on but the connection to my phone Wasn’t working! Didn’t realize it till later
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers Eric, no big deal. It was just surprising, because your vids are always top notch production quality. I know you put a lot of work in. Keep it up! Love it!
Houses in India are very different
wow, look how short rays beard is!
Yeah, she’s a GREAT customer. I’ve had owners that I’ve threatened to call the cops on if they climb in through another window on my site
Lol can you please elaborate and tell everyone some good stories?
She sounds like she’s from Tennessee.
They definitely ran a 🚂 on her
125lb ?!
Holy shit she is so hot. She should stand up. Must have been a treat to work there
Is it insensitive to ask what Ray wears on his upper arms?
Not insensitive at all. It’s my continuous glucose monitor. I’m type 1 Diabetic.
His beard probably weight 50lbs
first
You are almost better film directors than you are builders :)
There's not enough emphasis on safety with this crew. He talks about dangerous scenarios & never mentions keeping his crew safe. I would recommend researching "Human Performance" & instilling a safety culture amongst the crew.
