Always nice to see Fridolina Rolfo... so glad she is back.
It was nice to see that Sarina respects the Swedish Team and the fact that they were able to draw against them.
Kafaji's 1st and 2nd touch assisted Rolfö with a perfect curve ball, what a player she is and she's the future of Swedish offense.
No, she had touches before, when Walsh fell over her for a throw-in.
She be at Chelsea next season ...🤭.....🦁
@@JazzFunk22 She's said that she wants to play in Spain, her ambition is to play for the best team and become the best player, she spends every hour awake kicking ball, she kicks a ball on the way to training and home, she's inspiring.

England should be happy that Stina missed. JRC!! what a machine, and Eriksson, Rolfö and…… 🇸🇪🤘

Sweden looks way stronger with Rolfo, Eriksson and Rubensson back in the squad. They were missed in the Nations League. I also hope Rebecka Blomqvist comes back soon, she's also dangerous!
Thanks Stina you beauty.....🦁🦁🦁....👍
Both teams had chances that on another day would have been in the back of the net to be fair. The game was lacking in tempo, especially in the first half and it felt to me as though both teams were too cautious about losing the opening qualifier, as opposed to going full out to win it. England only seemed to ramp it up towars the end. Sweden will be happier with the draw than England though.
Björn, Ilerstedt and Blomqvist was missing, maybe Hurtig too 😉
it would have nice to see jess park good ball control and direct attacking defenders need to give new players of the future a chance
We miss Erikson in Chelsea
Such beautiful defense
When she threatened Bronze for landing on Kaneryd was cool, you know if you've seen her club games when Eriksson points at you you better listen or you're going down when you don't expect it.
so why dont get her back?😀
Swedish girl can't turn off the game Incredible
You could have use for a svion from E Sweden against a geat(Blackstenius) from S Sweden...😊🎉
A match without dirty play and filming, just a joy to watch because they are playing a clean football..Maybe this is why many prefers women football...

It made me happy to see many from Arsenal in the England squad, says a swede...I hope we both go to the championship in a very hard group...
This Swedish team is admirable! I increasingly admire Stina, she failed in her finishing, left her Arsenal teammate in mourning but missed the final shot.

Stina is amazing. I can't believe how easily she cut through England. That she didn't get her finishing right is an aberration and I'm sure England realize that. The England defense against that pouncing Swedish attack was lackluster and slow and not planned for. Deficiencies in planning I think.
@@Biomirth agree!! Stina against Chelsea missed 2 goal chances that she hardly misses, she has to be more killer. The English defense failed on the goal they conceded, and on Stina's counterattack, but here they were lucky because she didn't hit the goal.
Fridolina Rolfo is such a beauty!
Sweden and England both have their key players back from injury. It was interesting game

Kudos to Sarina Wiegman for picking Lotte in the team. She has been on form and got the personality to perform on the big stage.
I'm seeing a lot of comments saying Bronze should retire and always out of position, which was what led to the sole goal in the WC final against Spain and i see their point, but she's been doing well for us at Barca this season especially in driving forward during attacks and always tracking back when needed (has also mot made any errors leading to goals this season except an own goal vs Benfica)
Probably being in a club which always has so much of the ball and possession helps i guess
Those comments are delusional. Clearly they are not football fans at all
@@shaunsowter And you are , Oh Wise One ?
She's always had a rick in her but her superior athleticism made up for it. As a Barca fan I am shall we say, looking forward to Batlle taking over at right back. She's done herself proud at Barca but when a player's strength is their athleticism you have to have that dialed to 11, and it no longer is. She's in no way 'past it', but just isn't at the top level anymore. I don't think she'll mind with her what, 4 champions league winners medals?

Was always going to be a draw against Sweden. Two of the best in the world going head to head, tough game especially in a gruelling season. Thought Clinton was class tonight. 18 goals for Lessi Russo for England and her first at Wembley.
Good saves from eriksson and falk
If England manager Sarah Wiegman couldnt see how much England needed to strengthen the midfield she must need her glasses cleaning . It was only when Kelly and Mead came on that England started to buzz,,Why wait so long to bring on players that were badly needed? Game resulted in a draw but had Mead and Kelly been allowed to start much earlier we would have won..It was the same in the world cup final with Spain ,when England lost control of the midfield..and lost the game.
Stina’s running was brutal it’s amazing the pace she’s got, too bad it was hit with her left foot, otherwise would have gone in. Hemp on the other side missed too a clearly one but was a good game, both are amazing squads with so many resources, hope one of them can face Spain finally

This is a tough group. Already Tuesday's match against Ireland is a 'must win'
Every match is a 'must win'...
@@sandrapatriciaoriguarios4589 Exactly that, and there are no easy games anymore. We are in this tough group because of our poor performance in the Nations League. That was never just about Olympic qualification. But it also has to be said that Sweden has perhaps the best defence of the teams in the group. I can see us winning both games against Ireland and France, but we will have to be better than we were here. It might come down to that away game against Sweden to decide the group if Sweden also win all of their other games. Group stages are always tricky anyway, because unlike a tournament, there is no route to building momentum. As a manager, you are just hoping players are fit for each international break and are able to play to some level of form. There are also no surprises for a lot of these players, given how many of them play in the WSL. That is why international management is a completely different ball game to club management, where you are able to work with and develop players week in and week out.
Not looking forward to the france game .....😳.....🦁🦁🦁.....🙏🏻
We were at Wembley and to be honest this team looks tired and out of ideas we need to start younger players now to give them experience alex and georgia were awful Sweden were easily the better team 😢
lauren james always coming in with the clutch crosses/assists
She waste too many chance shooting from miles away!
@@mracer8 she’s young .. she’ll learn with time
When she went England were useless in every aspect 😮
@@mracer8as she should, she should be playing as a 10 so she can shoot more! She doesn’t have the pace and intensity to be a wide player like hemp. So I suggest a 10 with a free role. You need to understand that in female football the goalkeepers are garbage so a decently placed shot from distance can beat them. So give James the license to exploit this.
@@user-pg8fy1uf2r Top keepers in the womens game are not garbage at all. Statisically, female keepers make less mistakes than male keepers as well. But there is a height difference, that means female keepers need to be able to move along their line better and quicker, so it's a different style of goalkeeping to mens football.
Right now, Stina and Rodman are the fastest women players in their sport.
England looking pretty ropey tonight I’m afraid. Weak passing, a crazy about of indecisive play and dithering. I’ve defended her in the past but I think it may be time for Bronze to call it a day. England have to step it up if they want to defend their title.
I’m wondering if they even qualify. Such a tough group and they look ropey as you say ….
Just because Lucy had an ok game doesnt mean she should "call it a day". She is still one of the best rightbacks in the world anyone will tell you that. Sweden came here with a gameplan and to an extent it worked they stopped us playing how we want to. Lucy is Sarina's first choice and will be for a while
@@CMJames Their lack of confidence didn’t really fill me with confidence either. I suppose we can only wait and find out. Hopefully it’s just a blip, we’ll see.
@@shaunsowter I agree that she is, but these days she is seemingly less and less confident/on the ball (excuse the pun) and as a result she gives the ball away too easily. There were many examples in todays match alone where she looked lost with where to play it, how to even clear the ball.

how is itr possible to have France, England and Sweden in the same group ?
@CMBelite-FR

how is itr possible to have France, England and Sweden in the same group ? Because France finished top of their group in the Nations League , so go in this group from the first pot. England finished second in their group, and Sweden finished third. Uefa, in their wisdom ( Uefa and wisdom in same sentence? ) decided that anyone not top of their NL group, goes into the second pot. So you have a few teams , that would normally win their group, put in another group as ' runners up ' . That make sense?
Anyone know why Earps never comes out to claim or punch away crosses and corners? I find it very strange.
She can't jump..has no vertical leap
She is a player from the "duck and cover" school of goalkeeping....
It consists of, mostly, 2 teachings:
1) If you are not there for the cross you cant miss/look bad
2) Do blame your teammates for the goal
Tired of it
Lots of reasons. Most corners are inswinging kicks and goalkeepers are taught to stay in the middle of the goal close to their line. Also women have weaker arm strength and makes it harder to catch the ball without it slipping through the fingers or dropping it. Same for punching, the ball doesn’t go very far and if one of their players is outside the box, it’s an excellent shot if the goal keeper is off her line. She also isn’t exceptionally tall for a female keeper, players like wubben-moy and definitely Renard could easily beat her to it. Also the way players line up for corners, there’s almost always a player positioned to simply stand in your way. Obstructing the goalkeepers view is only a foul if the player is offsides and there’s no offsides on corner so it makes it harder to navigate around and get to the ball on time. You gotta play to your strengths and I don’t think her strength is coming out and catching it.
As a Swede i want to see Hannah Hampton, she seems cool, she has a different mentality.
Barcelona players lead both team. Always enjoy watching Hemp.
Spain and Germany score loads - we haven't got formation right up front. Bronze out of position again - she's supposed to be a full back! Stina should have won it.
Donkey Bronze to slow to catch a cold, 👎😲
Please do not compare Spain and Germany. Germany struggled to get out of a group with Denmark and Iceland in Nations League, were bumped out of WC in the group phase and today they needed a little help of a friendly ref to get over Austria... In the meantime Spain put 7 on Belgium
bronze needs to accept her time is over
Germany played a team 12 ranks below them , and only won by one goal. France played a team 22 ranks below them and only won by one goal. Spain ranked 1 and world champions and nations league champions , played a team 17 ranks below them and scored 7. England ( 2 ) played Sweden ( 6 ) , the closest ranked game in Div A. Sweden pressued the England players every time they got the ball. England never settled.
Italy ( 14 ) beat NL (8) 2-0. Now * THAT'S * an upset.
England were very lucky not to lose this game. I predict that Sweden and France will go through and England will miss out.
How Blackstenius missed that goal is crazy.
I hope that was England's bad game out of the way.
Keating more better as England Goal Keeper
Bronze out of position - again(!) - for the Sweden goal. Stanway stinking up the joint, James 5% brilliance, 95% laziness. No penetration, no cohesion. Has Sarina lost the plot?....
Sarina lost the plot during the latter stages of the World Cup; remember, when Walsh was injured and Katie Zelam was played, what a difference she made? Then Walsh recovered and took over from Zelam?
Zelam's not even in the squad now. But we've still got Earps, in Earps' opinion the best in the world, the goalkeeper whose feeble effort against the Dutch cost us a place in the Olympics.
She'll be more agile in Madame Taussards. I feel sorry for you, Russo.
Can see Sweden topping the group ...🦁🦁🦁......🙄
@@Onthemove6801Erps is an old school goalkeeper. Can't pass no skill on the ball and she looks so fragile. They should start with Hampton she can distribute the ball really well. But Sarena has a big favouritism problem.
@PS0120
Yes, you're quite right about her favouritism, which sometimes resembles her head in the sand. Is it not time to replace Walsh and Stanway, both of whom repeatedly make poor passes which lead to a mad scramble to salvage?
Earps and the backs spend far too much time passing the ball around between themselves. The only player of visible quality last night was Alessia Russo, who scored and was the only player who looked as though she might score again; and we know what happened to her. She looked a bit unhappy at being substituted but she had every right to be. Overall, a very poor performance but if we were Swedes instead of Brits we'd be spitting blood over Blackstenius's miss. Give Russo more playing time at Arsenal and in England matches and she'll become a worthy successor to Ellen White.
@@Onthemove6801 Yeah, should find a replacement for Bronze as well but walsh plays solid for barca. Again, they should play Hampton she has a good passing range. I really thought england might have done homework after olympic exit and Sarena has to take tough decisions. I wonder sarena has the freedom to bench players as she want without being under pressure from media. Just look at Williamson, media always ask about her will she play? Why she doesn't play? Despite just coming off an ACL injury. Same with Arsenal manager he starts a final with not in form just coming off an injury Williamson over worldcup winning CB Codina who was the best defender in the 2 nd half of the Conti cup final.
Well done Sarina, to substitute the only player who could have won the match while the other ten were asleep. Earps and Bronze on walkabout again with Walsh unsure of what team she was actually playing for. I'd feel gutted if I was Russo
Sweden seemed a stronger team. England players spent too much time passing the ball back towards their own goal (dangerous and vulnerable location) instead of forward to score goals.I started shouting at the TV...'WRONG WAY'!
We played very poor last night Sweden bossed the game & we were Lucky Blackstenius missed that chance, Ireland is a must win,our passing was very sloppy & Bronze seems to get caught out of position, sweden looked far more dangerous in attack than us. A lot of times last night England kept passing the ball back Like our men do, serena Hasn't been talking to southgate has she ? We just seemed well out of sorts last night, hopefully it's just a blip.
Sweden is a very, very, very good team.
It was a balanced game but Sweden showed more determination
England were poor at the back, Toon should be in the team more often , Mead should have been on from the start. Sweden were the better side they were faster than England, and created more chances. A draw was about right.

It was a balanced game, with no reason for mistakes, in the end with the departure of Rolfo and Stina England started to grow in the game, Kafaji came in and made an assist, imagine if he had started, if he leaves Hacken I hope it will be for a team cutting-edge

Seeing Russo and Lauren ❤
Sweden seemed the better side. England very poor.
England play not to lose in the second half. They came out scare and sat on the lead. Sweden did everything to equalize and kept the pressure, fine passing, control, and worked England midfield ultimately caught Lucy Bronze sleeping. Should have scored the go ahead goal but it wasn’t meant to be and England survived. England is very predictable and that explains why they’ve regressed.
why they’ve regressed. England Rank 2 v Sweden Rank 6. The closest ranked game in Division A. Very close game fought between two equal teams. This is the group of d.e.a.t.h.
Sweden has been an power house in the women’s game for the past decade. And definitely been the most consistent team for sure. They’re press is so well organized. That doesn’t mean England is regressing. Also want to point out that Russo was sick last week and didn’t even practice with Arsenal. So she is not 100%. Also to note, Rolfo is just making her way back from injury. Although her skills maybe a little rusty, she definitely benefitted from being refreshed while the other players look exhausted. As an American if you wanna see regression, 👋
@@richard6440England form doesn’t looked like a 2nd ranked team. They’ve not look like the England from the Euros. Regression is not qualifying to the Olympics. A second ranked side should be at the Olympics.

Nah

Those are sarena's favourites. So she won't bench them
I agree about Stanway, but nobody watches closely the whole game and sees how many times Lucy did actually save the situation and prevent Sweden from scoring. You can`t blame their goal on Lucy alone, the throw in and cross could have been prevented.
Why do they show so many replays? Missed the Swedish goal live!!

Could it be that other coaches have sussed out the way Sarina sets up her team-after all they have had some time now to analyse all of England's Euro matches in detail. I'm not saying that she should be replaced, but she doesn't seem to have a plan B when plan A isn't working. Taking off Russo without replacing her with Daly was a mistake as the forwards no longer had a focal point to play to.
what a game
Hate to say it but on that display, it looks like England are going backwards. Time for Bronze to be pensioned off. Not convinced by the central defensive pairing - badly need Leah back. And I don't think Sarina knows what her best attacking and midfield trios are.

Sad, but Lucy is pretty much done. Need Leah and Mille back, and Fran in midfield.
You and that bright are you? Pun not intended. You are judging when you dont know what you are talking about.
England , Sweden, Holland, Germany and France are so closely matched these days, you really can't pick them apart ATM.
So E will disagree based on the most recent performances but these ebb and flows happen all the time, especially with football where teams are more competitive compared to in other sports
Spain are obviously miles ahead at present.
Personally in this group I think Sweden and England are going to have a psychological advantage over France because they will be more desperate to win after the nation's league and missi g out in the olympics.
Great game
Stanway should be switched for Kirby. Also they need to start more with Grace plus Mead should have started this game with Chloe Kelly joining with more time to create an impact.
Greenwood was fantastic but Lucy Bronze needs someone challenging her. Sometimes there was nobody picking up loose balls in midfield. Russo, Hemp and Kelly sometimes are tracking back too much.

@@PS0120 The country that hosts the Euros would be picked a few years before , to enable them to organise it. Sarina had 14 games from when she took charge until the Euros kicked off. So a good amount of time to choose her team, get them used to playing together, and she plays more attacking football than previous managers. And she told them to score lots of goals. Which they did, and loved every minute of it. The injuries? You can train a team to be as fit as possible , and the quick passing game didnt give the other teams time to tackle them. You cant control injuries, but you can try to reduce the chance of getting them. You cant control who you play against, and who that team fields. Popp was missing from the German side in the Final. Luck? Every team gets some , or none , game by game. Spain took the lead. Sarina changed the formation in the second half and brought on 3 subs. That was good coaching.
