    @MrTjmk Před 4 lety

    I'm a complete newbie with drones and I just ordered one of these and one of the things I've been looking for answers to regarding the "Return-To-Home" feature is, does this drone return to home in a straight line from where ever it happens to be to the original point of departure or does it have some kind of internal memory of it's path of departure so that it follows that same path of departure to get back home?
    For example: At it's point of departure it went flew up to an altitude of 10 feet then swung out to the left about 10 yard, made a left hand turn and flew away from you to 15 yards away and just hovered there. When you activated the return to home function, did it come straight back to you or did it follow in reverse, the path it took to get out to 15 yards? Thanks

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety

      In general, the return-to-home routine on most drones is simply: “rise about 30 or so meters, then go to the home coordinates in a straight line, then land”. That’s basically it. As for flying any sort of path, that’s where the waypoints come in...points are marked on a map, it flies to those points, then comes back in a straight line. Always in a straight line (as it is the shortest distance between two points) where battery depletion & safety are factors...

    This Heron flies good. The price has gone up from $150 to $200. Look like the demand is good on Heron. your unit looks good execept a bit of shaky gimbal. Try to reset the drone a few times see it properly set the gimbal where it should be.

    • @rx344

      This drone does feature a 2-axis mechanical gimbal that will stabilize the video footage taken from this drone over the 4W… That being said, the 4W does have a longer flight time… So if the footage quality and stability is the priority, then this one would probably be better for you...

      As introduction ,by the price I love this small quad that I received some days ago. And I have the h501s and the Zino!!! Now to connect you must do the following: 1) power on drone 2) power on controller 3) go to smartphone (wifi must be 802.11ac) and see wifi "networks" where must appear drone and controller wifi 4) still at WIFI settings connect to Controller 5) ignore message that has no access to Internet 5) open the App 6) at this moment must appear "Start Flying" . It is true that sometimes this not happen maybe because I don't follow this sequence. or I don't know. One thing that I noticed is we must wait until the gimbal move several times until the camera points horizontaly

    For stability and camera. Which better? Tello or heron x9?

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety

      These drones aren’t really even comparable (as they are significantly different and in different categories)… The X9 is a more robust and complete drone, while the Tello borders on toy-grade. The X9 has brushless motors, GPS, optical-flow sensors, long range transmitter, etc, while the Tello lacks these things. It is less expensive though. So the X9 will be the more stable camera platform...

    Great review. Nice video footage; overall a good drone at that price. I think normal batteries are better for the controller instead of the internal battery. Internal battery may deteriorate over time thru constant charging cycles I believe or am I wrong.

    • @rx344
      @rx344  Před 4 lety +1

      On many high-end devices such as iPhones and even DJI controllers, the batteries are built-in... Keep in mind that the amount of charge used up by the drone controller is very minimal… On a full charge, the controller can operate the drone for about 40 hours straight and deterioration doesn’t start occurring until close to 1000 charge cycles... So basically, the drone’s controller shouldn’t have battery problems for years and when it does, you can easily unscrew it open and replace the battery with a generic LiPo battery of the same size…

      Well a lot depends on what you are looking for in the drone… Some people like the drones mainly for flying and some are only concerned with the camera… Also, some want a good drone camera just for still pictures, while others want it mainly for video... This one is very good overall… It has a stabilizer to help keep the video stable and flies very well… So this may be a good choice, but there are thousands of drones out there and they all have different features, advantages, and disadvantages…

      Well it has a 2-axis (not a 3-axis) gimbal, which means that left and right shakes will be noticeable… While up-and-down or rotational shakes are handled by the 2-axis motorized gimbal… But in general, this should be a lot smoother than a drone without any gimbal… Perhaps mine wasn’t properly calibrated and I did take it out on a windy day… So it wasn’t in optimal conditions, but if it was, the footage would be a lot smoother…
