Jojo can be silly and surprisingly mature at the same time. There's lots of violence and blood but it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Too bad the fanbase gets a bad rep. Literally an amazing show and I love anybody who supports it

That's the first step to descend into the madness.
Overall the show doesn't pull it's punches (Make sure to watch the uncensored version!), it's over the top and eventually graduates from the 'strongest person wins' to something far more creative. It's definitely serious, but at the same time comedy gold. And the best meme factory we could hope for.
Plus, part 1 aside, has brilliant OST's outside of OP and ED's.

Giorno was healing Mista with his stand and Mista was in so much pain he was crying for him to stop. The other character you didn’t get to see Narancia had seen this and had thought the same thing.
