    Why 7cm from armhole to make side dart ?

      It's a standard parameter. But you can change it, it's more to get a upward pointing dart rather than a downward pointing is all :)

    Hello, what is the size of the side bust dart if the shoulder to waist length is equal (4-7 =0) for back and front?

      If [4-7] = 0, technically there's no need for side bust dart, but that's usually not the case. I would suggest checking the Centre Back Length and the Front Length measurements again.

    Hi, I find your bodice pattern easy to follow and works for a novice like me. However I am having difficulty fitting sleeves as I find the heights of the front armhole and of the back armhole don't match up after sewing up the shoulder and side seams. Please advise.

      Hi Rev, thanks for viewing! Just to check, if the front side dart has been sewn? I'm not quite sure what you mean when you said the heights of the armhole did not match up. Sleeve cap is usually slightly bigger than the total armhole length (for ladies' wear mostly) and that 1-2cm extra needs to be eased into the armhole during construction. If you have a picture of your draft, possible to share? it would be easier to visualise the problem you are facing. Thanks!

      Hi Yixin, thank you for your kind reply. I'm sorry my question was vague. The side seam matches up perfectly after doing the bust darts. My issue was that the back armhole length is longer than the front and I had some trouble fitting the sleeve. But I realize that back armhole has to be longer than front so that the shoulder seam will sit centred on the shoulder. (I hope I'm correct). Then perhaps the sleeve cap Centre should be placed little more towards the back?
      Another issue is that the back shoulder slope is a little more steep than the front. Is this intentional?
      In any case yours is the best bodice pattern I have found that suits me as a beginner..many thanks for sharing and helping. I am now a subscriber.

      @@revn9203 Back armhole is generally longer than front armhole, they are not necessarily the same. It will sit centred on the shoulder. For construction, the centre of the sleeve cap can be placed about 0.5cm towards the back to give more ease to the back armhole since anatomically we need more room at the back than front for arm movement.

      Hi Kary,
      2015 is a fitted block whereas 2016 is a semi-fitted block aka looser in fit.

    Hi, how do we measure shoulder slope/slant?

    • @yixinchew6898
      @yixinchew6898  Před 7 lety

      In this draft, the shoulder slope is standard (1.5cm and 4cm down from CB and CF respectively).

    Hello, what is bust height?

    • @yixinchew6898
      @yixinchew6898  Před 7 lety

      Bust Height is measured from High point Shoulder to the Apex of the bust.
