Because they are not real karatekas and don’t really know how to throw powerful punches or just basic boxing…so use the primal instictive strikes… still effective but not karate.
Karate arm punches are not that effective, because of technic they based on. Karateka couldn't defense himself at a short distance, because the main defense in Karate is movements, not blocks. So, because of technical features, karateka usually has hight speed, but not really good punch technic and not really good blocks.
Glad to see that Karate is evolving and becoming effective again. The hardliners who kept it traditional at all cost and not allowed modernation and evolving of Karate ruined this sport.
The real problem was when they broke with tradition and stopped training full contact so that everyone could do it for fun. Like most martial arts it used to be way more brutal
Karate used to be a legit form of martial art even on par with muay thai. As previously stated, it's been watered down to allow more people to participate. Go watch old karate fighting tournaments and see how different it is from the olympic sport.
It makes me really happy to see that an old discipline is being glorified with a healthy promotion. I was on my 3rd brown belt when I had to quit martial arts due to spine injury. Nowadays, I wish to continue where I stopped. Cheers to these amazing fighters 🎉
Although entertaining, a lot of technique and discipline goes right out the window. Chins up in the air, wild arm punches, no angles being set to throw kicks
Apparently it’s the 3rd most painful injury. I dislocated both at the same time during a ladder related injury. What sucks is the 90% chance 3:58 to re-injure after, and I’ve had about a dozen since then.
@@MattHanr Sports injuries are deceptive. They are like that little demon creeping around the gym, field, dojo or race track. I had to stop power lifting by the time I was 41.
Never watched karate until 10 minutes ago via that Varga Azouz fight and I'm sold. Funnily enough, I randomly stumbled upon Varga after randomly watching Rizin's The Match 2022 followed by a few kickboxing matches. Love hearing Bas and GSP together, the set looks amazing and I'm sold. UFC feels like a sterile mess atm so I guess this and One will fill that void just fine!
The fact we got Bas involved had me sold on the entire package. Then they went and got involved with HBAR (Hedera) made me so flipping happy to see. The stage setup is absolutely too notch and the tech they aligning with is next level. Absolutely stoked for the next 5 years.
@@user-mv6lx5on2pWhy would only that be "real karate"? You do realize there are many different karate styles? And on top of that many different ways to compete (kata, kumite, semi-contact, full contact and even within these many variations in rules)
The 3rd fight, telegraphed it, telephoned then texted and emailed it to him and wroteand mailed him an explicit, erotic letter 3 days in advance before he threw his punches
And while he was Tele graphing those emails via 56k dial up . He's rocked off his knocker . Becoming more dazed with every hit . Like huffing a cream canister of nos. One after another till the box is empty
Bro, I felt that first one. I literally have been kicked like that and his reaction was exactly the same I had. Not knocked out, but so fucking rocked I could barelly function for a few minutes while dealing with the pain. Thank god it was sparring and my buddy was a really good sport and immediatelly stoped and went to help me along with my teacher. He felt really bad about it too lmao but in retrospect I appreciate it because it's a reallity check in combat awareness and we mutually agreed to go hard to push limits.
in any martial art... if the opponent attacks then we block it or avoid it then we attack back... or we block the opponent's attack while we attack back... whereas here we only see the fighters doing punches and kicks simultaneously... 😃. . It's just like brutal street fighting.. only a very few fighters use karate or other martial arts techniques
Boxing: We are fine with brain injuries MMA: We are too, but we implemented some rules to keep that from happening Karate Comabat: LOL we just changed the angles of the ring walls, so we can kick people in the head while they are laying on their back, what can go wrong???
It's just called karate combat, but most of the way to knock down an opponent doesn't use karate techniques, most use brutal techniques without technique, only a few fighters defeat their opponents using karate techniques or self-defense techniques
These people really don't know how to cover their faces. One rule in boxing (classic Martial Art) it's to no matter what, always cover your face, and so with MMA, Muay Thai and Kickboxing, and other ones, like... what the hell, those KO were easy to just cover up
I didn't see any karate. Some bad boxing but no karate. And if you cant defent yourself on the ground with wrestling or jiu jitsu ground and pound is to much.
I'm been enjoying this more then the UFC recently
