Is this game fun? Yes it is. This game is fun if you play with friends. Especially since the game is dead with like 5 people in the online.
Totally get that. I did enjoy some of the solo post but I can see it getting old after a while
Ive been playing Maxiboost on since its more recent and still has a bit of an online community left, but It definitely hurts not having some of my favorites like the Mudrock. I also think that Ultimate Battle and the Striker system would've been good inclusions to Maxiboost On as well

Do you recommend for a newbie to the series? I’m a huge fighting fan and have all the fighters ..whether it’s 2d or 3D arena or anime or triple A titles I have them all..always had my eye on this and its on sale now for $14..what are your thoughts? Is it easy to learn? Difficult to play? Are characters unlocked from the beginning so I can do local multiplayer?

I just got this for a little over £3 (about $4 ) and it is an absolute bargain! I don't play multiplayer games but am quite happy with the single player modes. The best thing about it is the huge amount of Gundams that are available right from the start, including the EZ8 and Ground Type from The MS08th Team, which is the only series I have watched in its entirety so far. The only thing really missing is that it doesn't tell you what weapons each Gundam has so it's a kind of try it and see what you get scenario! It is way better than Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 which I've had for a year but have hardly bothered with!

By the way.....I am not even a Gundam fan. I don't watch the Anime series at all. I don't really like em actually. But I still love the games though. Gundam Versus being my favorite of all time! I would recommend this game for at least 45 bucks for sure. If it had a story mode than yeah....full price. Because the fighting art, great FPS, the HUGE differences between each Gundams abilities\skills\moves ( mind you, 94 gundams to choose from ), and so forth truly makes the game imersive to the bones! Great game for sure.

"Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost ON" is also a PS4 game pretty similar to Gundam Versus. You could say it's like a sequel? It actually launched earlier than GVS on Japan, but it got ported to PS4 to the West in 2020. It feels like a sequel because it has like double the roster of GVS. And to top it all, it has a healthy community that open lobbys quite often.
I really recommend it!
