- The Takeover is a side-scrolling beat’em up inspired by 90’s classics such as Streets of Rage and Final Fight. Battle solo or alongside a friend in local co-op in any of the three featured game modes, Arcade, Survival and Challenge. Fight your way across 7 stages and over 20 unique locations using any of the four playable characters or swap between them in real time in the unlockable Relay Mode.
Story:
The game follows a classic beat 'em up narrative where players must rescue a kidnapped loved one and fight through a city's criminal underworld to achieve their goal. Each playable character has a personal reason for taking part in the mission.

The game includes 4 playable characters (Ethan Rivers, Megan Rivers, Connor, Jackson) , each with distinct moves and fighting styles. Players can switch characters during gameplay to utilize different abilities and strategies.

the in game animation looks much better than the comic style lol like 2 different animators
It seems to me that the comic animation style was the creators' deliberate choice. Honestly, I also like the animation style of the game - I find it flawless. I especially like the beginning of the game, when the camera smoothly moves from the pizzeria, past the restaurant, towards the main character Ethan's car. This effect is brilliantly executed. If you asked me to rate it, I would give it a 10 out of 10.

Urban Lockdown on Steam for PC is a great beat em up with digitized sprites ! worth a purchase and highly reccomend it.
