Great video. I was a mess for months after. I'm not one for nervousness or anxiety, but it was severe.

Me, too. I was a sobbing mess in the hospital. I keep reliving the days leading up to my hospitalization.

Being diagnosed with FVL AFTER having an ischemic stroke, never stepping foot into a hospital for my stroke, except for outpatient PT. This has helped to know I’m not alone, even 7 years later!

Hi. Thank you for the video. I had a lot of clots in my lungs. I had been through a three month asthma struggle in the worse time for me in the fall. Drs at the hospital asked all questions did testing etc and cannot tell why I had so many clots. I was short of breath for about 11 months..got better over that time. Was in pulmonary rehab for five month. My family didn’t understand that I could not do what I did before and they were angry with me. Two weeks after being released from the hospital it was thanksgiving but I couldn’t go. Getting a shower took everything out of me. My adult child in his 30’s claim I wasn’t trying hard enough..not true. I asked him to talk with my drs but he wouldn’t. Both my children are in the medical field one and a nurse, one a fire fighter and paramedic. Yep they didn’t have the interest enough to read about PEs and how it affects you after you leave the hospital. For instance, walking from the bed to our master bath I was totally out of breath. Taking a shower even setting on the shower seat, which helped but I was exhausted after and had to lay down for an hour. I am on a blood thinner for life. I feel protected by the blood thinner, but I’m told it’s not 100% guarantee as they don’t know where the clots came from so I have the anxiety you were all talking about. I would be interested in getting into a group about PEs, their care after in the hospital and at home and how family members can understand what you’re going through. Thank you.

Currently dealing with this and thankful for this video. I wish this was more well know after blood clot diagnosis. It snuck up on me and I never realized it until I was in the thick of it!

Thank you so much for sharing this. Like a few others here, I have developed severe anxiety after a recent PE from a DVT in my left leg after a foam scleropathy procedure that went horribly wrong. Am currently on a high dose of Xarelto and enduring the side effects is not easy. Have started therapy this week but am still finding all of this very hard. Am very happy to have found you 🙏

My drs thought I should be healed and “back to work” after two weeks after PE and infarction. I’ve been in bed over a month now. They don’t know anything about the recovery. 😢

Very helpful... I was diagnosed with PAH almost five years ago, a small PE 2 years ago, on Xarelto since, not a peep from lung doc or care team about it. Now it looks a lot like I have CTEPH... So it was a small one but traveling with friends. Delayed PTSD but mostly really PO'd about the mushroom farm treatment from medical folk I trusted.

Hello, my name is Liliana Alcantar. I was diagnosed with a DVT this past July 1, 2023, this has been a life change for me, and I still do a lot of research every day. I'm a young woman; my hematologists told me the reason I got this blood clot was because I was on birth control pills. I want to ask if surgery is a good option for me?
