I speak Polish not Slovakian, but I'm pretty sure you completely mistranslated what was said. Firstly, the address was not "ladies and gentlemen" but "congressmen and congresswomen". And secondly your translation of "this is your job" seems to lose the actual meaning of what was said, which was along the lines of "this is your doing" - implying (as far as I can tell) that the opposition (who he was presumably addressing) is responsible for the assassination attack
Same here, a Polish native speaker but I agree that the speaker was playing an explicit blame game towards opposition parties.
as a slovak i just confirmed you are right how you corrected it
I am Serbian native speaker and that's how o understood also
@@MirjanaPucarevicSrpski brat, Kosovo, Montenegro, Srpska Respublika je Srbija.
I am an English speaker and I thank you all for the translation
who did the translation? its bad, its really bad
What was actually said? Can you give me a better translation please?
For one, where he supposedly said, "It's your job." What he actually says is more like "It's your fault." @Butmunch666
@@Lasvicus Mind giving me a full translation? Its not a lot of dialogue to translate. Sry if I'm asking too much.
@@Butmunch666 Dear congressmen and congresswomen, I am suspending the session of the parliament indefinitely ... The prime minister of the Slovak Republic was shot. (addressing the opposition) - This is the result of your work.
Then they are shouting at each other whose fault is it...
@@Jozny Thank you!
At 0:16, the man says in an accusing tone: 'This is your work.'
It's a mistranslation, he said "this is your doing"
More like it's your fault

I’m Polish and I understand Slovakian. Awesome. 🤩
You're almost a polyglot. English, Polish, Slovakian.
@@olixz Likely also understands Czech. We all do. It's a BOGO deal here.
there are 5 people workin in the entire parliament?
Officially? No. But you must understand, they are very busy running their private businesses. Welcome to Slovakia.
@@kefinkamed heh listen I'm from Croatia so I know first hand a little bit about corruption and lazy officials 🤣 but seeing parliament this empty is whole other level lol
I not from Slovakia but judging from the look thats the front podium for the councilor or government minister at the front of the hall, as there is also presenting lecturn at the center.....but still it seem like the not a lot of councilor attending the meeting huh
In Italy, we're used to politician's absenteeism. Our politics class is one of the worst across the EU.
actually, that day the government was in another city for the meeting. My hometown, where it happened.
Why do many seats are empty??
Government does not attend sessions unless voting takes place. They do not engage with the opposition.
@@lukas.prochazka Wait so the congressmen of the government don't attend meetings? The opposition uses the parliament?
@@crushedjaguar4915 They attend meetings only when voting takes places as they are evading any kind of discussion.
@@lukas.prochazka Same in Greece. Government and its satellites rarely attends the opposition's speeches
@@kostapapa1989Same in any country with a parliament, PM and head of state
Do y'all need a new translator??
Pray for Slovakia. 🇸🇰 🙏🏼
and the opposition replies: Nope, it's your doing you "odkundes" (means basically a person that comes from abroad but people use it as a rough insult)
That´s really not what it means :D
@@kefinkamed according to dictionaries it is :) but yes, I thought before it is something connected with kunda :)
Just yesterday Rishi had said its becoming dangerous society, now this shooting of slovakian pm and officers of french police😮😮
Well it’s great that his political party has cut police on half over a decade alongside having the weakest navy and military in 400 years and has been releasing prisoners early… it’s like he doesn’t understand what he’s saying or his political party has tried to make the UK less safe for decades now
It's becoming a dangerous society? Have you seen London? It already is, and partially thanks to him I'm sure.
So sorry for him and the nation!
He will be alright. As for the nation, I am not that optimistic. Slovakia is divided and many people have been leaving that country for years. And after what happened, it will change even worse.
Prayers and thoughts for Mr Fico, his family and the Slovakian nation!
Parliament is near empty anyways
Did he just said, this is your job??
Yes, as in "you (the opposition) are responsible". No time to waste when scoring cheap political points.
Blaha knows, who's job was it ?! Blaha needs to be immediately investigated .
Google translate at its finest
I had to come to the comments for the real translation. That was sooo bad and I don't even speak Slovak! Haha
WHO
Who is that hottie in pink?
slovak Goebbels
We know why , and WHO did it
Who did it then. Stop cospirating around
Who was it then? Who shot the Pro-Russian PM?
Context? What did he mean? Pro-russian, contra-russian? which party stands for what? What is he suggesting? Are you a newspaper or what?
He meant that the pro european-american party had an hand in killing him thanks to outside help
No, he said 'its your doing' to the opposition. And just for context, he adores soviet russia and everything that is wrong in this country is oppositions fault, even though he is in the ruling party. His name is Lubos Blaha. Google him if interested.
@@STG-88 No, he was a poet.
Well, he is pro-EU and pro-Russian, and anti-NATO and against sending aid to Ukraine.
Lesson: Don't be a Orban
The second sentence was, it is your job.
No, he said: ‘it is your fault’
What difference would that make to the world really?
oh no, how will we make russian co-official along slovak now???
This means war

Why doesn't Ukraine negotiate with Russia? Oh thats right, its illegal. Got you.
@@waynealan3067 Another one right here . Waves
@@YouTyranny With Russia everything is wrong. You cannot negotiate.
Russia?
Usa CIA.and an impressionable person....next Viktor Orban? They hinder the interests of the USA.. They oppose the war and want peace.. other Europeans are pro-war (represents the interests of the USA) Long war = a lot of money
Why would the Russians turn a country back towards nato? This is the U S A opposition to his policy. Russians lack motive and precedent.
He is pro Russian, I think.
Are you American?
Nigeria ?
This is what happens to European Politician who stands with his people instead of USA.
Then why is Orban still alive? You overestimate USA. They really don’t care that much about all the countries of the world. Only the most powerful ones.
You are very much mistaken, but understandably so.
The slovaks, it seems, are not very professional. Neither in guarding a minister nor bringing up the message about the shooting.
Blaming the opposition for it is not professional.
