Pushing 40, went to get fitted for a suit today for a cancer benefit. Told the guy, “I’m not fancy, if it doesn’t stretch, if it doesn’t look like gym attire, I don’t own it(I don’t dress up). He took me all around the store trying different sizes and shapes on. He told like 5 times, “people aren’t built like you, small waste, big chest, wide back, big quads and shoulders, ect…he was a genuine man”(for the record, I’m not jacked at all, I’m 185 lbs and I just try hard everyday)…I just kept shaking it off and kinda laughing bc my body dysmorphia has never once let me be proud of myself. Today is the first time in my life I have been kinda proud of myself and halfway accepted a compliment. I felt good when the suit was done.
I actually thought back about all the episodes where Seth talks about body dysmorphia and helped me feel slightly normal for feeling the way I’ve always felt. The hundreds and hundreds of notebooks I’ve wrote/counted my macros down in since I was called fat the first time when I was 13 yrs old. I know I’m not the only one that has spent their life feeling that way…and if you’re on here, you let probably a nut like Seth, myself and all the people you respect. I know this will get lost, but thanks again for the videos Seth, always help me be a better version of myself…not just for me, but for my parents, my sister, my wife, my kids, my coworkers, and my patients that I fly in the helicopter. You help us understand that it’s ok to be intense, to be “fuked up”, to show emotion…to be dumb sometimes, but work harder everyday to be the best person we can be and most importantly to be a good muther fuker. You’re the man.
Hoagie is totally a PA thing, derived from Italian immigrants in Philadelphia back in the day. Used to be called "Hoggies"; Hog Island.

Hoagies are cold and have Italian meats. Gyro and hero are not the same thing. You get hero sandwiches in NY. Gyro’s have a pita and that shaved lamb meat. A grinder has that tough chewy bread. Sub encompasses all the long sandwiches and is a collective term.
